Director, People Analytics
What You'll Do As our Director, People Analytics you will lead the team responsible for delivering data, insights, and predictive analytics across Avalara's People & Culture organization. You will guide strategy for our People Analytics roadmap, positioning the function as a, strategic partner to senior leadership. The Director, Peiole Analytics will build trusted relationships with executives, People & Culture leaders, FP&A , and other internal partners to shape workforce decisions and surface trends before they become challenges. You will play a critical part in aligning talent strategy with outcomes through analytics. You will report to the Senior Director, HR Ops and Analytics. This is a remote position within the United States. #LI-Remote What Your Responsibilities Will Be You will lead Avalara's People Analytics function by setting vision, priorities, and deliverables that align with talent strategy and needs You will manage a high-performing team of analysts and a data engineer, encouraging both technical growth and consultative skills You will build trusted partnerships with senior P&C leaders, FP&A, and executives, delivering insights that shape people decisions and outcomes You will lead the design and evolution of dashboards, scorecards, and self-service reporting tools to improve visibility into workforce trends You will guide advanced analytics programs such as attrition modeling, workforce planning, and organizational health You will ensure the integrity, privacy, and governance of people data in partnership with PeopleTech, Legal, and P&C You will translate complex data into clear stories that create strategic action and continuous improvement You will bring an informed point of view an contribute to productive decision-making What You'll Need to be Successful 8+ years of experience in People Analytics or a related field 3+ years of experience managing high-performing teams You have proficiency in SQL and PowerBI, with a grasp of modern data architecture and reporting tools You have experience leading analytics initiatives that inform business and talent strategy Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience You have experience with Snowflake, dbt, GitLab, and Workday Background in fast-paced, global, or technology-driven organizations Pay Range Details The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. Colorado $148,800-$245,600 (annually) Washington $148,800-$271,500 (annually) California $148,800-$297,300 (annually) NYC $180,100-$297,300 (annually) The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
