Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading the Outage Management department for Perry Nuclear Power Plant in a cost-effective business environment.

This role plans and schedules for both refueling outages and forced outages. These plans and schedules coordinate the efforts of various work, support and engineering organizations, as required, to effectively maintain equipment in a high state of readiness and to safely support generation obligation while carefully managing risk.

Key Accountabilities

Directing the station’s work control process to provide work scope to site organizations while concurrently providing operations with a plant configuration plan. Leading the station’s planning function to ensure planned and emergent work scope is promptly and effectively incorporated into executable work packagesManaging the station’s work schedules to ensure all required activities are completed in the most efficient manner while maintaining the highest level of personnel, radiological, nuclear and equipment safety to optimize the value of the asset to the company. Employing lean techniques in continuous improvement processes to ensure each area of responsibility is constantly improving the associated processes and adding to the value of people, processes and equipment.Active participation in industry benchmarking / peer groups to ensure the plant remains a top deciles performer through leading-edge mentality and implementation of best practices.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

High school diploma/GED equivalent required10-15 years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Maintenance, Operations or Work ManagementSRO License or Certification highly desiredOutage Management experience desiredProject Management / Scheduling experience is highly desired

Key Metrics

Safe and Reliable plant operation as evidenced by low-risk profiles, lack of nuclear safety, personnel safety or radiological safety events and meeting or exceeding top decile generation profilesOutage work completed with low percentage of rejected or rescheduled work and with minimum unplanned safety system unavailability and within planned outage duration.
