Director, National Network Sports Ad Sales

Join us in shaping the future of sports media monetization at The E.W. Scripps Company! As our Director of National Network Sports Ad Sales, you'll lead innovative revenue strategies across our broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. This pivotal role puts you at the intersection of national sports leagues and media partnerships, where your expertise will drive growth and create compelling opportunities for advertisers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Drive national sports ad revenue across all platforms

Create and execute sales strategies aligned with key programming windows and advertiser priorities

Identify new revenue streams and develop innovative sales packages including branded content and creative marketing solutions

Lead direct outreach to national brand clients and media agencies

Develop and maintain all-level relationships with agency investment, strategy, and planning teams to secure upfront and scatter market commitments

Partner with marketers and agencies to develop custom, insight-driven solutions

Collaborate with integrated marketing and planning teams to deliver multiplatform ad solutions spanning linear, streaming, digital, and social extensions

Ensure alignment between sales promises and execution across internal operations, marketing, and trafficking

Analyze marketplace trends, advertiser shifts, and category-level dynamics to inform go-to-market narratives

Act as an internal thought leader on women's sports monetization and consumer engagement trends

Coordinate closely with internal ad sales colleagues across verticals and regions to drive share of spend

Partner with league stakeholders and programming leadership to ensure commercial alignment with league and media priorities

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience

Generally, 10+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Demonstrated success in selling integrated advertising programs to national advertisers and agencies in Sports

Deep relationships at the client-direct and agency-holding company level (strategy, planning, and investment)

Expertise in sports media sales with experience in live sports and women's leagues a strong plus

Strategic thinking with strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills

Results-oriented and highly collaborative approach

Ability to work across internal and external teams to close business

Skill in elevating strategic, key sports properties commercially

COMPENSATION RANGE:Annual Salary: $215,000.00 - $230,000


 

Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in New York.
