The Director, MTEC (Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, and Chemistry) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and cross-functional oversight for MTEC teams to ensure alignment with business goals, regulatory standards, and scientific excellence, while driving project execution and fostering collaboration. Additionally, this role is responsible for building and retaining high-performing teams, strengthening stakeholder partnerships, and implementing operational excellence through KPIs, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position reports to the Senior Director of the Technical Operations and Innovation Team and is part of the Cell Culture Media business unit located in Logan, Utah, USA and will be an on-site role. 

What you will do:

Set strategic direction for MTEC teams and related functions to align with current and future goals and business needs.Oversee cross-functional execution, ensuring alignment with global business priorities, regulatory and quality standards, project and customer timelines, and scientific rigor.Drive multi-faceted problem-solving while fostering a culture of scientific excellence and collaboration through multi-functional workflows.Lead high-performing teams, promoting mentorship, accountability, and retention across multidisciplinary functions.Coordinate partnerships with stakeholders, including Global Manufacturing, Sourcing, Product Management, Commercial, Quality, and Core Accounts/Project Specialists, to effectively meet stakeholder and customer needs.Implement operational excellence, including KPIs, risk management, and program oversight, to ensure continuous improvement and strategic alignment.

Who you are:

Minimum of BS in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology) with a minimum 10 years in biotechnology or biotech-related fieldsMinimum of three years leading professional teamsProven success in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple complex cross-functional projects.Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.Demonstrated ability in mentoring and developing relationships and talent.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel - 15% travel, mainly in the US and Europe regions but potentially globally as needed.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Customer perspective and requirements for Cell Culture products, processes, and quality, including single-use packaging and impactManufacturing processes, analytical techniques, and QMS / GMP requirementsAdvanced education (MS or PhD)

The annual salary range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
