What You’ll Be Doing

As the Director, Microsoft Security Services, you will join CIBC’s Security and Cloud Engineering department to oversee the strategy, design, implementation and optimization of Microsoft security services across CIBC. This role is responsible for building and leading high-performing engineering teams, driving delivery of secure and scalable solutions, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to improve our enterprise-wide security posture. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in Microsoft security technologies with proven leadership in large-scale, complex environments.

How You’ll Succeed           

Strategic Leadership – Provide strategic thought leadership, building, maintaining and delivering on our bank’s strategic goals and roadmaps. This includes defining and driving the enterprise roadmap for Microsoft Security tools adoption, integration and evolution.

Engineering Delivery – Oversee the implementation of security solutions including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft USOP, Microsoft Entra ID, Purview, Intune and Defender for Cloud. Work in partnership with Microsoft and internal Cyber Security teams to align internal roadmaps with Microsoft product roadmaps.      

Teamwork and Relationship building – Build, mentor and manage a team of engineers specializing in Microsoft security technologies. Promote a culture of collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement within the team as well with internal stakeholders. Additionally, the role requires frequent managerial interaction with architecture, engineering, security operations, risk management, auditors, external consultants and executives.

Governance and Risk Management – Ensure delivery meets security, regulatory, and operational requirements. Partner with governance and compliance teams to ensure alignment with published policies and frameworks for controls management.

Service Delivery and  Communication– Drive service adoption, communicate regularly and clearly about roadmaps, business case development, planning, delivery and vision. Serve as a technical liaison with Microsoft and other third parties as necessary with regular communication to internal stakeholders.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate knowledge and experience in broad range of information security domains, and/or specialization in Microsoft security services. You possess the ability to think strategically with a track record of stewardship in the management of technology design and delivery. Past experience working for a large financial institution is preferred as-well-as any prior exposure to Microsoft security implementations is required.
