Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

We are seeking an operational leader to help oversee the implementation of AI/ML capabilities across all areas of NBCUniversal’s 24x7 Content Supply Chain. This new role will be responsible for driving forward the deployment of content scanning framework, automation scripts, and the building of thoughtful, automated solutions that reduce manual touchpoints across the operation in alignment with our LRP.  These solutions will power automation and innovation, increase productivity, improve our scalability against business needs and demands, and support the teams across 24x7 Operations.      

We are looking for someone who has foundational experience working within the media industry and stays up to date on the latest AI and automation capabilities.  A successful candidate will strive to understand a variety of operational workflows, be collaborative to get things done across a matrixed organization and be an excellent communicator. 

Blending an understanding of AI tooling capabilities, product roadmaps, data analytics, business acumen, and product management, the ideal candidate will effectively utilize their diverse skill set to support multiple high-profile automation projects.  

Key Responsibilities:

Define a strategy for evaluating and implementing new AI powered capabilities across 24x7 OperationsUnderstand product roadmaps and tooling features based on this strategic AI vision to help define prioritized feature sets to address key internal needs. Evaluate the current state of workflows across the legacy tech stack and participate in the go-forward consolidation strategy.Partner with and ensure alignment across Engineering, Operations, Enterprise AI & Product teams to successfully execute on the implementation of AI & automation across the Content Supply Chain in alignment with 24x7 Ops LRP.Manage third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring SLAs are met and workflows align with business needsMake evidenced-based decisions using data analytics, KPIs and business engagementProvide regular reporting, presentations, and updates to executive leadership Translate the complex into a simple “story” - creating compelling executive presentations that explain strategy, timelines, risks and goals.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

5+ years of relevant experience in media, with experience delivering on complex operational or automation projects.Strong proficiency in workflow documentation, technical analysis, product roadmaps, and executive presentations. Strong knowledge of MAM systems, editing platforms (Avid, Adobe), transcoding, QC, and file delivery technologies.Demonstrated ability to lead both operational and strategic initiatives, including technology integrations and workflow redesigns.Background in television, film, or digital media distribution 

Desired Characteristics:

Experience with project management and workflow systems and tools (Lucidchart, Airtable, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office 365) Acute attention to detail  Good interpersonal communication skills Comfortable compiling presentations for an executive level audienceAble to work well in groups or teams Able to easily ‘translate’ operational requirements to engineers

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.Must be willing to have flexible work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
