Job Summary: We are hiring a Director, Partnership Marketing for a short term of ~6 months to cover a leaveDepartment OverviewWithin the Walt Disney Studio’s Worldwide Partnerships and Promotions team, Marvel Studios Partnerships is responsible for uniting third-party brands with both Marvel's theatrical films and Disney+ content to create best-in-class both global and U.S. based 360-marketing, media and promotional campaigns. Position ResponsibilitiesThis position provides critical Sales efforts for worldwide and domestic co-promotional partnerships for Marvel Studios’ titles. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead individual brand pitching, negotiations, and brand partnership development for multi-million dollar barter and revenue generating co-promotional deals across Marvel Studios theatrical and Disney+ content release scheduleStrategize around, actively pitch/negotiate and secure 3rd party promotional partnerships for all Marvel Studios titlesManagement/oversight of operational and executional elements of programs (product placement, financial tracking, etc.) Reading scripts and watching footage to identify and manage against studio deliverables for brand partner campaignsWork with the VP to guide development of partnership strategies, pitch criteria, key brand/category targets and identify thematic connections to secure multi-platform marketing, media and revenue-generating campaigns as well as cross-company initiatives where appropriateOversee initial outreach and potential partner pitches for Marvel Studios partnership opportunities; manage deal conversationsDevelop presentation materials, often bespoke thought-starters in collaboration with creative team to facilitate partner pitch meetingsManage revenue and partnership deal-driving product placement and integration agreements and deliverables, including working closely with Production for Marvel Studios contentDrive deal negotiation for brand partners; duties include partnering with Legal, Marketing, Corporate Brand Management, Franchise and Execution, and in all serving as a critical point of contactSupport VP with the development of trackers and presentations for internal reportingManage team's relationships with key external partners such as agencies and promotional partnersCollaborate across all TWDC lines of business and other key partners to identify company brand priorities, develop applicable synergies and cross-promotional programsManage business-related elements of partnership deals during execution process, including collaboration with Project Managers on coordinating publicity/experiential/event-related extensions, media reporting activations and beyondCollaborate with Marvel Digital and Custom Solutions, Disney Ad Sales, Disney Consumer Products, Walt Disney Studios Media & Special Events teams for incremental revenue driving partnership extensionsManages deal-specific budgets to ensure team meets applicable AOP goalsRequirements10+ Years of Experience in marketing partnerships and salesPrevious experience developing marketing partnerships that deliver multi-platform media campaignsAbility to manage projects from development through completionExcellent organizational and planning skillsAbility to write, create and deliver high-level presentationsStrong leadership, negotiation and proven project management skillsStrong creative vision and sensibilitiesExperience managing blue chip level companies/brandsPrevious partnerships sales experience a must, both for barter and revenue generating deals and working in a team environment to hit objectivesAble to communicate with all levels of management and filmmakersExcellent relationship-management skills in addition to being a team-player possessing enthusiasm and a desire to take on increased responsibilitiesEntertainment product placement and integrations experience (studio experience preferred)Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, corporate entertainment matrixed environment, with the ability to learn internal processes quickly, along with the basics of who to engage with questionsAbility to multi-task on a variety of projects at any given time and to operate within an organization that conducts business across multiple time zonesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, meet deadlines, and be resourceful/flexible, all while maintaining absolute professionalism and confidentialityAbility to travel both internationally and domestically as neededMac Computer Proficiency, including Keynote, PowerPoint, Adobe Software, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
The hiring range for this position in California is $156,500 – $202,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
The hiring range for this position in California is $156,500 – $202,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
