Job Title Director, Marketing Japan Requisition JR000014954 Director, Marketing Japan (Open) Location Tokyo, Japan Additional Locations Job Description Summary The Director, Marketing Japan will lead the strategic marketing efforts for Japan COmmercial organization, driving market expansion, commercialization, and brand positioning. This role oversees all aspects of marketing strategy, including market research, product promotion, stakeholder engagement, and life cycle initiatives for flagship products and new brand introductions. Job Description Essential Functions + Define and Implement Strategic and Marketing plans and lead the annual planning efforts for Japan in parallel to the International and corporate processes + Lead, manage and develop team of marketers, also working with matrix support with the International regions and functions and with HQ to maximize efficiency and focus of the Japan team. + Be accountable for implementation of all elements of the planning process both strategic and brand, ensuring deliverables in accordance with agreed timelines in partnership with sale, medical and commercial effectiveness. + Provide oversight and leadership in developing the Japan leadership team working closely with and supporting the GM Japan. + Ensure full alignment on all marketing activities with International Commercial teams, Global Access, Global Brand Planning, Medical and HEOR. Plus provide input on behalf of the Japan Leadership team (JLT) to shape global strategy and plans. + Communicate Japan's needs to global cross-functional teams, including product development, supply, and quality, to ensure the stable delivery of high-quality products. + Responsible for supporting professional development and training for the commercial team within the region. Plus data analytics and competitive intelligence working closely with the cross-functional team. + Provide oversight and leadership (through direct and matrixed resources) to maximize brands value proposition of MNK’s portfolio in the JP market. + Key member of the Japan Leadership team (JLT) and global brand teams, and ambassador for Japan internally with key stakeholders in MNK US and global + Monitor external environmental conditions that may impact market access for MNK’s brands, including changes in laws and regulations, and inform/educate relevant internal personnel on the implications of any such changes. • Act as a leader, coach and mentor to the marketing team, develop and assess clear personal development plans in line with personal and enterprise objectives. + Comply with all relevant SOPs, health care compliance rules in Japan, cross-functional consensus and governance approval process. Minimum Requirements Education / Experience / Skills: + Minimum 10 years’ experience of working in and leading marketing and related functions at regional and/or global level + Deep understanding of brand and strategic planning process, how to maximize commercial operations leading a team and connecting with global resources + Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to shape and influence strategy within a matrix environment + Expertise in all relevant functional skills, e.g. marketing, commercial excellence + Senior-level business/ sales/ marketing experience to understand role and importance of strategic and operational leadership + 10+ years’ experience of team leadership, recruitment, management and development + Demonstrated skills in cross-functional collaboration and alignment at all levels of the organization Organizational Relationship/Scope: Reports to: General Manager - Japan Working Conditions: + Office-based (Tokyo, Japan) with up to 50% remote work. + Frequent domestic trips + As needed basis overseas trips #LI-KD1 At Mallinckrodt, we know that we contribute to something that matters because we make quality products that impact patient lives.
