THE ROLE

The Director, Managed Venues – Private Events & Tours will lead the strategy, revenue generation, and team development for private events and tours across our portfolio of North American venues. This role will focus on driving outbound sales, cultivating enterprise-level relationships, and delivering memorable experiences for clients ranging from corporate conferences to high-end social functions.

This role is part of Legends’ Managed Venues division, which includes the ASM Global portfolio—the largest network of stadiums, arenas, theaters, and convention centers in the world. The Director will oversee a wide range of venue types, each with its own unique selling proposition and audience.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, emotionally intelligent leader with deep hospitality roots and a passion for creating exceptional client experiences. They must also be a builder—of strategy, of pipeline, and of people—with a proven track record of outbound sales leadership and success in high-touch B2B environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and execute an outbound sales strategy for private events and venue tours across the Managed Venues portfolio

Identify, target, and secure enterprise-level clients including Fortune 500 companies and major brands

Provide leadership and direction to venue-level private events and tours sales teams to exceed revenue goals

Collaborate with marketing and data teams to build targeted outreach campaigns and optimize lead generation

Establish best practices, sales playbooks, and performance metrics for outbound-focused selling environments

Work cross-functionally with operations, hospitality, and client services to ensure premium event execution and guest satisfaction

Participate in new business opportunities and onboarding of new properties as Legends expands its venue portfolio

Represent Legends at trade shows, networking events, and client engagements to promote our private event and tour capabilities

Supervisory Responsibilities 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience

10+ years of sales leadership experience in private events, hospitality, venue management, or related industries

Proven track record in outbound sales, enterprise client acquisition, and relationship-driven business development

Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills with the ability to build trust with internal teams and external partners

Demonstrated success managing diverse venue types and event formats—from large-scale corporate functions to intimate private tours

Skills and Abilities

Willingness to travel up to 50% to support sales efforts and onsite client engagement

Background in hotel, convention center, or destination sales

Experience working with or selling to Fortune 500 companies

Familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot, or other CRM systems

Advanced degree or certifications in hospitality, business, or sales leadership
