Position Overview, Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Procurement, the Director of Logistics, North America will assume a leadership role with expert-level accountabilities for logistics operations which include 200,000+ shipments in the U.S. and Canada and over 30 external warehouses. 

More specifically, the Director of Logistics, North America will be responsible for the following:

Form logistics strategies to properly balance cost and service goals, stays at/below market
Leading third-party logistics services which provides people and system support, group of 15 Create strong partnerships with Crown stakeholders within a network of over 40 plants Develop bid strategies using a strong understanding of internal and external market factors Negotiate and manage all logistics vendor agreements, responsibility for performance Sources logistics vendors, develop strategic partnerships, leveraged to benefit Crown Improves service levels to customers to meet best-in-class standards, on-time pickup, delivery Partner with business stakeholders to define warehousing strategy and network design Responsible for sourcing external warehousing, ensures cost and space meet business needs Purchasing and rebalancing responsibilities for transit packaging moving throughout network Lead import/export functions as well as customs compliance, ensure alignment to Federal regulations Assessing and improving the current organizational structure, skills and capabilities Implement best practices and serving as the subject matter expert (staying current with industry trends) Development of annual logistics budget and quarterly forecast updates for each business unit Direct management responsibility for staff of five logistics professionals
