Business Unit Description

Loan Syndications (“LSG”) US includes syndicate and sales functions and is CIBC’s face to the loan market, providing (i) market information, (ii) investor coverage and (iii) arranging, underwriting and distribution capabilities in order to serve CIBC clients’ capital raising needs.

Syndicate: LSG provides loan market and deal-specific analysis and advice to (i) facilitate CIBC’s loan investment decision making, (ii) mitigate market risk when providing underwritings, (iii) enhance risk-adjusted returns on capital and (iv) support capital rotation.

Through its secondary market execution capabilities, LSG is a (i) provider of liquidity and capital relief, (ii) sourcer of new business opportunities and (iii) facilitator of active portfolio management. LSG facilitates secondary market information flow and executes purchases and sales.

These activities support CIBC's leading position in the loan markets as an advisor and debt arranger for core clients, both for corporate and structured financings.
