The Director of Jesuit Initiatives at McDonough School of Business (MSB) is a senior leadership role designed to advance the School’s Jesuit mission and identity across academic, co-curricular, and community engagement activities. Rooted in the values of cura personalis, service to others, and reflective leadership, this role will liaise across MSB departments and University-wide mission initiatives to integrate Jesuit principles into business education and school culture.
The Director of Jesuit Business Initiatives is critical to the McDonough School of Business because the role ensures that the school’s identity and strategic direction are firmly rooted in Georgetown’s Jesuit tradition. The Director embeds Jesuit values into the fabric of MSB by creating new opportunities and supporting existing activities that cultivate ethically grounded, socially conscious leaders across its academic programs, co-curricular experiences, and community engagement. The Director strengthens a shared sense of mission among students, staff, and faculty. Additional duties include but are not limited to:
+ Partner with program leaders to design curricular and co-curricular offerings that emphasize reflective engagement with Jesuit values such as Community in Diversity, Cura Personalis, and People for Others
+ Identify key touchpoints and milestones in which Jesuit values could be embedded more meaningfully, such as student orientation, faculty and staff onboarding, and leadership development.
+ Collaborate with Advancement and the Dean’s Office to secure funding for mission-focused initiatives, retreats, and the development of a Jesuit Business Center
+ Work closely with the Office of Marketing and Communications to promote community awareness of Jesuit-related offerings and tell the story to external audiences and stakeholders.
+ Represent the McDonough School of Business in university-wide mission and ministry initiatives, aligning school efforts with institutional priorities, and also attract donor, foundation, or corporate sponsorship
Work Interactions
The Director of Jesuit Business Initiatives reports directly to the Chief of Staff and interacts regularly with members of the Dean’s Office, unit and program heads, and colleagues who lead signature social impact programs such as the Pivot Program and Small Business Corps (SBC). The Director will have significant engagement with the broader MSB community–staff, faculty, and students– as well as with Campus Ministry.
