Kforce has a client that is seeking a Director, Intellectual Property - Legal Department for a hybrid role in NYC. Summary: We are seeking a seasoned intellectual property attorney to lead the development of a new in-house IP function for a prestigious luxury brand. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape and build a comprehensive intellectual property strategy from the ground up. Based at our office in Midtown Manhattan, this hybrid position requires a minimum of four days per week on-site. Key Responsibilities: * Establish and lead a new in-house intellectual property practice, including hiring and managing a support team * Collaborate with the General Counsel and executive leadership to develop and implement a robust IP strategy that protects and maximizes the value of the company's assets * Ensure alignment of U.S. IP strategy with global brand vision while remaining innovative and responsive to the U.S. market * Oversee trademark protection, prosecution, clearance searches, and litigation matters * Conduct regular audits to assess strengths, weaknesses, and risks in the IP portfolio * Provide strategic guidance to internal teams and external counsel on IP matters * Promote best practices and leverage current technologies to enhance IP protection * Support and mentor legal team members, including paralegals, to ensure effective execution of IP initiatives
