Director, Integrated Business Planning
Arcwood Environmental is seeking a strategic Director of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) to institutionalize, own and drive the integrated business planning process for the enterprise. This role will lead forecasting, demand planning, and network optimization to influence positive financial results for the Company. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role ensures cost-effective short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts while maintaining reliable customer service. By leveraging IT-enabled systems and collaborating with Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Logistics, the IBP Director will develop and refine business plans that optimize volume and mix to balance the network efficiently in both steady state and offline assets conditions.\n
As the subject matter expert in demand planning, capacity management, and revenue forecasting, the IBP Director will drive key initiatives, including monthly demand plans, consumption modeling, network strategy optimization, and business integration. This leader will also facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment across teams and supporting executive decision-making. Additionally, this role will lead embedding AI, Generative AI and market as well as competitive intelligence tools to drive improved forecasting accuracy through planning software and advanced data analysis.\n

Market Intelligence & Demand Forecasting\n\nMonitors industry trends, customer behaviors, regulatory shifts, and competitor activity to inform planning assumptions and strategic decisions\nCollaborates with Commercial and Strategy teams to assess market developments and their impact on volume, service mix, pricing, and profitability\nDevelops and refines statistical models to optimize inventory management, mitigate plant disruptions, and maintain high customer service levels \nAnalyzes forecast accuracy, identifying trends and variances to enhance predictive capabilities and proactive business adjustments\nMaintains and updates rolling 18-month forecasts, ensuring timely and precise data uploads to support long-term planning\n\n
Demand & Capacity Planning \n\nDevelops short- and long-range forecasts that balance customer demand with operational capacity and financial targets\nIdentifies demand variances and aligns production, routing, and staffing strategies accordingly to optimize service delivery and asset utilization\nProactively manages risks to profitability, scalability, and operational efficiency through early detection of imbalances\nCommunicates significant forecast or capacity changes to Scheduling and Operations, ensuring proactive adjustments and seamless execution\nCoordinates seamless information flow to internal teams and third-party transportation and disposal providers, ensuring a seamless, one-stop solution for customers\n\n
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Executive Engagement \n\nPartners with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Strategy teams to ensure end-to-end alignment of demand signals, service capabilities, and budget assumptions\nActs as a key liaison between field operations and executive leadership, ensuring operational realities are reflected in planning assumptions\nPrepares and presents business plan summaries to senior management, delivering actionable insights that drive high-impact strategic decision-making\nProvides strategic input into capital investment planning, pricing strategies, and growth modeling to enhance profitability and scalability\nServes as a key strategic leader, collaborating with the COO on supply and capacity planning, the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) on demand planning, and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on revenue forecasting\n\n
Network Optimization, Cost & Mix Management\n\nManages overall waste allocation across the network, ensuring proper balance for lowest cost and highest customer reliability\nLeads network optimization processes to mitigate costs, maximize service efficiency, and resolve key supply-demand challenges\nSets the parameters for third party disposal agreements, swaps, etc. and partners with Procurement to lead agreement negotiations\nDevelops capacity simulation models to run sensitivity analyses for growth, pricing opportunities, and bottleneck resolution\nFeeds constraint capacity data to Pricing and Engineering teams to enhance profitability, operational efficiency, and mix optimization\n\n
Analytics & Continuous Improvement\n\nLeads the development of KPIs and performance dashboards to measure IBP effectiveness, forecast accuracy, and supply-demand alignment\nSupports executive decision-making through scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and capacity planning tools\nIdentifies planning gaps or opportunities and recommends continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and business impact\nDrives mix enrichment strategies, optimizing product and service offerings to maximize EBITDA growth and overall enterprise profitability\n\n
Education:\n\nBachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or logistics (required) \nMaster's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, finance or related field (preferred) \n\n
Experience: \n\n10+ years of experience in Integrated Business Planning (IBP), supply chain, or business operations with significant exposure to the waste, logistics, or industrial services sectors (required) \nProven success leading enterprise-wide IBP processes with financial accountability and executive-level influence (required) \nExperience leading and facilitating executive IBP meetings, ensuring alignment on key decisions and strategic priorities (required) \n\n
