The Director, Human Resources – Aerostructures Operations is responsible for providing overall HR leadership to the Operations, Quality & Supply Chain functions in Aerostructures. In this role, the incumbent will help build talent strategies and deploy organizational effectiveness tools that attract, engage, and retain our talent. In total these organizations support $4.5B in Collins revenue and include over 2,500 employees across multiple global sites.  This position will help develop and execute the people/talent strategies for these functions and will lead an HR team of 19 people across 4 countries.

This position will be worked onsite in Chula Vista, CA.

What You Will Do:

Effectively partner with client groups in a complex matrix and fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities and engaging appropriate stakeholders.

Partner with business leaders to meet organizational objectives, including talent management, organization development (change management, leader effectiveness, succession planning), and employee engagement.

Partner with HR Centers of Excellence and the People Services organization to implement program strategies to support the long-term business goals and objectives of the organization.

Partner, advise and coach leaders and employees to optimize employee engagement, team development, and organization effectiveness.

Ensure proper staffing levels, infuse talent into the organization and improve bench strength.

Counsel employees and leaders on performance development, career planning, talent development and other topics.

Drive the coordination and completion of talent reviews, associated talent calibration activities and associated action plans within their client group.

Lead HR core processes: performance management, change management, succession planning, staffing, employee relations, salary planning, and incentive compensation.

Deliver compensation, organizational design and strategies for workforce planning, deployment, and retention to address the current and future needs of the business.

Objectively assess and bring to resolution employee relations issues and work with appropriate organizational stakeholders.

Participates and collaborates as an integral part of the Aerostructures HR team.

Participates in and promotes a collaborative team environment by working with the HR organization and other organizations.

Ability to travel up to 25%

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience

6+ years of progressive HR experience in a business partner, generalist or center of excellence role demonstrating increasing responsibility and expertise in human resources management, strategic partnership with business units, and specialized HR functional areas

Experience managing and leading a team

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience working in a complex matrix environment

Proven ability to influence others to drive organizational change

Experience working with senior leadership to communicate and implement HR programs to support the business goals

Ability to analyze and use data and reporting to drive decisions and influence business leaders

Understanding of how to link HR initiatives to business objectives

Ability to manage to multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously

Ability to communicate (written & verbal) and work effectively at all levels of the organization

BA/BS in business, human resources or related area of study MA/MS/MBA is preferred

Experience working in a unionized environment

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 194,000 USD - 388,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
