Program Development & ManagementDevelop, implement, and maintain HSSE management systems aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.Lead the creation of safety policies, procedures, and standards tailored to specific operational environments for the region.Establish and track HSSE performance metrics and KPIs.Drive continuous improvement initiatives through regular program evaluation and benchmarking.Risk Management & ComplianceConduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for identified hazards.Ensure organizational compliance with relevant HSSE regulations and standards.Manage HSSE auditing programs and oversee corrective action implementation.Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and preventive measure development.Stakeholder Engagement & LeadershipPartner with operational leadership to integrate HSSE considerations into business processesProvide expert HSSE consultation to multiple stakeholders, including leadership, employees, and clientsBuild and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and industry organizationsDevelop and deliver compelling HSSE communications and training programsTeam Management & DevelopmentProvide functional guidance and mentorship to junior HSSE professionalsSupport professional development planning for HSSE team membersCoordinate and optimize HSSE resource allocation across projects or sitesQualificationsEducation & CertificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fieldProfessional certification required (CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent)Additional specialized certifications beneficial (e.g., CHMM, CIH, CPP)Experience7+ years of progressive HSSE experience with at least 3 years in a leadership roleDemonstrated experience implementing and managing HSSE management systemsStrong background in regulatory compliance and risk managementExperience with incident investigation methodologies and root cause analysisKnowledge & SkillsComprehensive understanding of HSSE regulations, standards, and best practicesExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesStrong project management skills with ability to manage multiple prioritiesAdvanced communication skills with experience presenting to executive audiencesProficiency with HSSE management software systems and data analysis toolsLeadership CompetenciesStrategic thinking with ability to translate vision into actionable plansChange management skills to drive safety culture transformationCollaborative approach to working across functions and organizational levelsResilience and adaptability in dynamic business environmentsWorking ConditionsCombination of office-based work and field activities requiring site visitsPotential for travel up to 30%May require response to emergency situations outside normal working hoursOccasional work in various environmental conditions during site assessments
