The Director, Global Market Access, PAP (Pharma Access & Pricing) Ophthalmology will play a leadership role in developing and executing integrated global market access, pricing and reimbursement strategy for our ophthalmology products. In this role, the Director will lead the development and execution of global market access strategies, payer value proposition, pricing strategy, and payer/stakeholder communication tools in collaboration with Commercial, Clinical Development, Outcomes Research, Medical Affairs, Policy and regional and country teams. This role will report to the Executive Director, Global Market Access, Infectious Disease and Ophthalmology.
Responsibilities:
Develop Global Plans for Access (GPA) global payer value proposition and access strategy for our ophthalmology products, ensuring access considerations are integrated into asset development plans. including clinical and commercial, taking informed positions related to price, value and affordability challenges at the appropriate time of product life cycle.Lead the development, communication and approval process of Global Pricing Strategy for the Ophthalmology franchise to support Commercial objectives and Global Access Strategies. Develop global pricing strategy, product value scenarios and negotiation approaches strategies in support of Global, Regional, and Country plans.Provide oversight of pricing proposals to ensure alignment with the Global Pricing Strategy and portfolio considerations.Partner closely with the cross functional teams including Product Development (PDT), Global Commercial (GCT), Outcomes Research, Medical Affairs, as well as regional and country teams to ensure patient access objectives and strategy are linked to clinical development, commercial and value evidence plans.Synthesize and communicate payer customer insights to inform current and future access strategy, including access opportunities and risks by country archetype. This includes conducting payer market research and analysis of payer landscape and competition.Co-lead with Outcomes Research/ Medical assessments to identify access barriers and inform access strategy and evidence generation plans to mitigate/overcome themCollaborate with Regional access, pricing and affordability solutions Sustainable Access Solutions (SAS) teams within GMAx to inform access strategy development.Provide access assumptions into business development assessments on an ad-hoc basis.Collaborate with Policy colleagues in the assessment of and development of action plan to shape the value frameworks and other policies impacting Payer value assessments.Lead the development of value communication resources, including payer value deck and other access resources.Position Qualifications :
At least 8 years of experience in one or more of these areas: market access, pricing/reimbursement, health policy and/or health economics, sales and marketing (or equivalent roles), market researchStrong understanding of healthcare systems, reimbursement methods, and policy issues, including health technology assessments of major countriesDemonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skillsSuccess in leading cross functional matrix teamsDemonstrated innovative mindset and high level of comfort working in a white space environment that is necessary for innovationDemonstrated ability to understand, develop and communicate scientific based strategies and messagesExcellent interpersonal skills; strong influencing, negotiating, conflict resolution skillsComfort and confidence in working with Inclusive teams and backgrounds; routinely demonstrates inclusive behaviors; actively seeks out alternate perspectives and experiencesStrong commercial orientation and business acumenStrong verbal and written communications skillsStrong project management and operational skillsPreferred Experience and Skills:
Knowledge and experience in multiple therapeutic areas, preferably Ophthalmology and understanding of the economics of the retina diseasesPrior experience developing innovative global access strategies and approaches to overcome challenging EU Payer environment business strategyDeep understanding of the EU HTA and healthcare systemsKnowledgeable about health economic tools and techniquesEducation Minimum Requirement:
Required: BA/BSPreferred: Master’s degree in business administration, health policy, or health economicsTravel: Yes, 10-20% of the time

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is
$187,000.00 - $294,400.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
