BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for leading program development of the English Language Programs (ELP) and facilitating new student mobility program opportunities for students. Additional responsibilities include the implementation and management of international partner collaborations and program specific international student support.
Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead program development, implementation, and management for English Language Programs, including working closely with the Dean to develop and manage new programs and initiatives that support international students and URI’s international student recruitment initiatives.
Collaborate with campus stakeholders including international admissions, recruitment, and the Office of International Students and Scholars to ensure effective recruitment, admissions streams, and student engagement for ELP students and to enhance the overall international recruitment strategy and efforts.
Lead program administration and management to engage in accreditation for the ELP and, including diagnostics, curriculum development, recruitment, domestic and virtual contract development, and international site visits. Handle all program development, management, and evaluation.
Collaborate with various departments and offices across the university to serve the needs of all language learners and College of Education (COEDU) students with the desire to study abroad. Support development of curricular integration to offer COEDU students a comprehensive mobility portfolio supporting career development and degree progress. Support development of appropriate academic program advising and program offering curation to ensure high impact mobility programs and portfolios.
Organize and run ELP student events.
Serve as the first point of contact for all inquiries related to English language support services and academic student mobility advising.
Collect and analyze data to inform program decisions for both ELP and global program mobility portfolio construction for COEDU.
Independently manage the ELP Teaching Program.
Oversee the hiring process for ELP instructors. Schedule training sessions.
Track student progress in courses and prepare reports for the Dean.
Supervise and manage instructors, tutors, and assistants.
Take primary responsibility over language diagnostics for incoming students.
Plan scheduling of courses, compile classroom rosters, and keep records for management and supervision of course instructors.
Strengthen existing partnerships and collaborate with the Office of Global Initiatives in the development of new international partnerships across sectors.
Support international partners with their program planning in partnership with the Global Initiatives Unit.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to design programs specific to the Feinstein College academic areas.
Write and submit programs for internal approval with the Office of International Education.
Develop and lead marketing and communications plans to recruit students and fulfill enrollment.
Develop pre-departure materials and lead student information sessions.
Research grants opportunities to support English learners and international initiatives including research and study abroad programs.
Collaborate with the contracts office to submit government grants via InfoEd.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as assigned.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers and printers; word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Required Qualifications REQUIRED:
1. Master’s degree.
2. Minimum two years of professional experience in leading academic mobility programs and mobility content creation for faculty led and virtual initiatives.
3. Demonstrated experience in writing external grants and proposals.
4. Demonstrated experience in implementing academic international partnerships including curriculum alignment and student exchanges.
5. Demonstrated understanding of curricular needs and aligning experiential and mobility opportunities.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of teaching practices for English Language Programs.
7. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
8; Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
9. Demonstrated supervisory experience.
10. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:
1. Demonstrated ability to interpret institutional policies, plans, objectives, rules, and regulations and communicate interpretation to colleagues.
2. Demonstrated ability to prepare and present studies, reports, and presentations.
