Director, Global Ad Operations, Amazon Ads
Description At Amazon Ads, we operate at the intersection of advertising and eCommerce to offer advertisers a rich array of media solutions across Amazon’s mobile and desktop websites, proprietary devices and placements including Alexa and Fire TV, Prime Video Ads, Live Sports Sponsorships, and Amazon's programmatic Demand Side Platform (DSP). The Advertising team is looking for an experienced senior leader for our global scaled Ad Operations teams who help support the execution and flawless launches of our Display advertising campaigns. This individual will lead a motivated team across multiple locations to achieve world class service goals for Advertising Services. Key job responsibilities Daily operations management of global advertising campaign execution services Process optimization, improvement and invention using Lean and Six Sigma tools as well as software automation Ownership of the behind-the-scenes systems including business planning and analysis, workflow planning, quality auditing Leadership of scalable strategies for accelerating new hire onboarding and support for new advertising products and platforms A day in the life This leader will instrument and automate rigor around operational workflows, ensuring that we manage to SLAs, efficiency and quality goals in the Advertising Services business. Meanwhile, they'll also develop capacity models that ensure our staffing levels and support structure meet the business demands. They will drive the long-term strategy for AdOps as the business continues to grow, ensuring we drive simplification and automation of eligible workflows. They will understand and demonstrate Amazon’s core values and Leadership Principles and translate those to everyday operational practices at every level of their organization. They will set the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the teams under their management including hiring, developing and mentoring. They will have an ability to understand technical systems in a complex systems environment across multiple products, platforms and geographies. They will demonstrate clear written and oral communication with an emotional maturity and grace under pressure. Basic Qualifications Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements 10+ years delivering cross functional projects 10+ years in program or project management 10+ years managing teams 10+ years working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams Experience in programmatic advertising and providing hands-on service in DSPs Master’s degree in engineering, business or marketing. Bachelor’s degree with significant experience will also be considered Experiencing leading and growing operations teams - record of improving customer experience and business performance Proven team management track record including leading large teams (200+ people) Strong people management and project management skills Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Processes and the ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement Direct experience in digital or other software driven process management Exceptional written communication Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous entrepreneurial culture Preferred Qualifications 10+ years management experience in technical operations, advertising operations or similar production environment with a demonstrated history of delivering innovative solutions Excellent knowledge of statistical concepts and their application to operations along with expertise in the use of technical/statistical tools to drive quality, process improvement and system design Strong organizational planning and development, business judgment, and communication skills A proven ability to identify new areas of opportunity and invent policies or processes to address those opportunities using expertise in disciplines such as business analysis, process engineering and software development A creative and analytical mind that thrives in a data-driven environment Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
