Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting in a complex, fast-paced environment. In addition, the Director will play a critical role in cash forecasting and lender reporting, as well as overseeing the company’s financial planning systems.
This role will drive the annual budget and reforecasting cycles, deliver monthly and quarterly reporting, and partner closely with leaders across the company to support financial decision-making. Managing a team of 3–4 professionals, this is a high-impact, high visibility role that combines financial rigor with business partnership.
The Director of FP&A will report to the VP Finance & Treasurer and work closely with the executive leadership team, business unit leaders and private equity sponsors. This is an influential role suited for a hands-on and detail-oriented finance leader who can lead and develop a team. The candidate should bring a track record of success in large corporate environments (public or privately held).
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead the annual budget process, including development of top-line targets, coordinating inputs across business units and delivering analysis to senior leadership.Manage the reforecasting process, ensuring financial plans remain aligned with evolving business conditions and strategic priorities.Oversee preparation of monthly reporting packages, including P&L insights, business trends and key performance indicators.Create presentation materials for the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to support strategic discussions.Partner with business leaders across the firm to drive P&L ownership, enabling informed decision-making on financial performance and growth initiatives.Own and maintain the company’s long-range financial plan, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.Own and administer the company’s financial planning systems (currently Cognos/TM1), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.Cash Forecasting and Lender Support
Lead the company’s weekly cash forecasting process to ensure visibility into liquidity and effective cash management.Support lender reporting, including presentations, narrative development and support materials.Monitor and report on debt covenant compliance.Partner with the VP Finance & Treasurer on financing activities as needed, including refinancings or other capital market transactions.Leadership & Collaboration
Manage and develop a team of 3–4 finance professionals, fostering strong performance and career development.Act as a trusted partner to business unit and functional leaders, delivering insights that inform strategy and execution.Drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial planning, reporting, and forecasting.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or related Master’s degree preferred.10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally with exposure to both FP&A and cash/liquidity management.Proven track record leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes in a complex, multi-unit organization.Experience with financial planning systems (Cognos/TM1 or similar), including administration and enhancement; SQL experience a plus.Familiarity with cash forecasting, lender reporting and debt covenant tracking.Exceptional analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.Demonstrated leadership experience, with success in managing and developing teams.FleetPride is the leader in the industry comprised of retail, service, distribution and wholesale divisions.
