YOUR IMPACT

 

The Director, FP&A is responsible for providing direct support to the Vice-President, Corporate Finance, being a key financial partner and adding value to the business.

 

The individual provides operational support to the Vice-President, Corporate Finance in areas that encompass Management Reporting (Board and Executive materials, Budgets, and Forecasts), partnering with the CAO Organization on the close and external reporting processes, and supporting the management reporting needs at a consolidated company level.  Success is enabled through an excellent understanding of in-depth analytics driving business performance and leveraging various data sources to support decisions and trade-offs.  The position requires the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in applying a comprehensive understanding of business and finance concepts.  Strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to prioritize input from multiple cross-functional sources, and strength in deploying resources against a myriad of competing for high priority requests from a broad group of stakeholders are all requirements for success. Additionally, this role requires an approach that prescribes and adapts models incorporating scenario planning, and overall processes, to an ever-evolving, growth-oriented environment using leading metrics as an evaluation of performance.

 

A strong predictor of success for the Director, FP&A is a leader who can provide visible leadership while managing and enhancing key financial planning and reporting processes in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment, leveraging resources with a team-centric approach.  He/she will have the ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization in a true partnership fashion.

 

 

 WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

 

Producing insightful financial management reporting (Board materials, Budgets and Forecasts at a consolidated level) by overseeing detailed analysis that can be summarized at an executive levelManaging Finance cadence, meetings, forecasting and deliverables that evolve rapidly.Supporting the annual strategic and budgeting/planning processProviding day to day leadership for their team, including hiring, performance appraisals, goal setting and compensation reviews as well as leadership and coaching as neededEnsuring data accuracy and integrity, identifying issues proactively and working with cross-functional business partners to address.Developing “what if” scenarios and models to solve problems and provide recommendations and insights.Leading specific Finance projectsIdentifying and assessing risks & opportunities, and able to mitigate risks with creative solutionsPerforming ad hoc analysis as required

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

 

10+ years of related experience, with demonstrated capability at the Executive levelBachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or other quantitative discipline required; Master's Degree or CPA preferredStrong data analytical and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated presence and engaged, visible leadership, with an ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact, influence and collaborate with finance peers.Proven ability to engage and develop organizational resources and talent.Process improvement skills. Proven ability in driving continuous improvement.Ability to flourish / function in ambiguityHigh tech, Internet, or Computer industry experience is preferredExpert skills in using tools necessary to build dynamic modelingExperience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: SAP, Oracle, Cognos, Business Objects, other data extraction tools), proficiency in Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation, including pivot tables, v-lookup & Macros. Experience in leveraging AI to enhance performance and productivity.Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and execute tasks with short lead times
