Role Overview:

Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team provides strategic and financial partnership to EA's Leadership team. We achieve this through engaging with our partners to understand our broad strategy, analyzing data, and delivering insights to guide EA's performance. 

As the Finance Director, you will lead business support for our Catalyst franchises (including F1, NHL, UFC, Other Incubation) and technology team for EA SPORTS. Additionally, you will assist the consolidated reporting, quarterly targets, and submission process for these organizations. Supported by a team of 5, you will report to the Vice-President of FP&A, EA SPORTS, and will work in a hybrid work model, defined as 3 days in-office.

What you'll do:

You will partner with senior leaders across EA SPORTS including our VP / General Manager, Head of Operations & Publishing, Executive Producers and their leadership teams to lead across all financial elements associated with the delivery of our Catalyst Studios & EA SPORTS Technology strategies. 

Provide strategic advice and partnership to all studios and executive leadership

Manage the holistic health of our franchises, including full P&L responsibility 

Lead the financial planning process, including the long-range, annual, and quarterly planning cycles

In partnership with the studio and analytics team, manage and oversee net bookings forecasts for live services

Establish and track performance measurements across all major offerings and projects 

Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support our partners

Guidance on core finance processes, building efficiencies and streamlining deliverables

Major Functions & Related Activities

Align with P&L owners on specific funding proposals 

Partner with leadership to set and manage budgets across all projects and titles

Provide decision support to leadership on investment and project decisions

Provide regular financial visibility with regards to Outlook, Risk and Opportunities

Manage greenlight / incubation process

Lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes and performance

Improve internal finance workflows 

Anticipate risks and partner with the leadership to identify trade-offs to de-risk and maintain financial goals

Balance priorities, and find creative solutions that achieve results

Team-Related

Build relationships with partners across commercial, marketing, and corporate functions and actively collaborate to work towards meeting financial and business objectives

Drive results by partnering on business-related projects such as modeling business scenarios and tracking performance metrics

Manage the Catalyst & EA SPORTS Technology team and work closely with our FP&A partners across commercial, marketing and corporate functions

Attract and mentor a team that provides insight and value to their partners

Influence, motivate and collaborate with your partners and team

Create a center of excellence and implement best practices, processes, and standards

Who You Are

Qualifications

10 or more years' experience in mid-level to senior finance roles

Experience with P&L management, budgeting, forecasting and analysis 

Proficiency in Accounting and general GAAP knowledge

Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint expertise required, experience with Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau and Oracle 

 

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $151,800 - $208,900 CAD * California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento) * $170,500 - $259,300 USD

In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
