Position Overview
The Director of Evidence Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic vision for a global integrated evidence plan (IEP) and an external research program. Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Medical Affairs - Evidence Generation, Strategy, and Communications, the incumbent will lead the development and execution of the global IEP collaborating with internal stakeholders and key opinion leaders. The Director of Evidence Strategy will lead a cross-functional team overseeing the external research program strategy, intake and review of external research proposals, contracting, and milestone tracking as well as utilization of the evidence generated. A deep understanding of the diabetes disease state, the current and future treatment landscape, and clinical research is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Global Integrated Evidence Plan Management:Develop and implement the IEP, aligning with the organization's strategic priorities.Lead the Franchise teams and other internal stakeholders to identify evidence needs and opportunities.Develop the IEP strategy for evaluation and prioritization by the IEP Hub and the Steering Committee.Ensure the integration of evidence generation activities across different regions and therapeutic areas.Monitor and report on the progress of the IEP, adjusting as necessary to meet objectives.Work closely with clinical, regulatory, privacy, legal, franchise medical affairs, and commercial teams to ensure evidence strategies support product development and commercialization.External Research Program Oversight:Lead and manage the external research program, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.Formulate a team to evaluate and approve research proposals, ensuring scientific rigor and compliance with ethical, privacy and regulatory standards.Review contract language and milestones working with IIR Manager to determine device needs and contract requirements.Foster relationships with external investigators and research institutions.Monitor ongoing external research studies, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion.Work with Senior Director and a cross-functional team on development of annual external research budget and tracking of budget expenditure.Key Decision Rights

A minimum of 15 years of experience in research with 5 or more years of experience in managementPost-graduate degree (PhD or equivalent) in a health-related fieldDiabetes technology related experience strongly preferredAdditional Information
The position is hybrid from our Acton, MA or San Diego, CA office.Travel is estimated at 10% but will be dependent on business needs.Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $191,925.00 - $287,887.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
