We’re currently seeking a Director, eCommerce Technology to join our Headquarters team!
In this role you will be a pivotal leader responsible for the strategic direction, development, and operational excellence of all technology platforms supporting Mister Car Wash eCommerce and Lifecycle Marketing. This role will lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical professionals, ensuring the delivery of innovative, scalable, and secure eCommerce solutions that drive revenue growth and enhance customer experience. The Director will work closely with Marketing and other cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives, identify new opportunities, and optimize the end-to-end digital customer journey.

Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute the long-term technology roadmap for Mister eCommerce platforms, aligning with overall company strategy and business goals Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in eCommerce to ensure our platforms remain competitive and future-proof Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity within the technology teamTeam Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of eCommerce developers, architects, QA engineers, and other technical specialists Foster a collaborative and agile work environment that encourages problem-solving, creativity, and professional growth Responsible for hiring, performance management, and career development of the eCommerce technology teamPlatform Development & Operations:
Oversee the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of all eCommerce applications, including our website, mobile apps, integrations with third-party systems (e.g., CRM, payment gateways), and analytics platforms Ensure the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of all eCommerce systems, especially during peak traffic periods Ensure seamless data flow and integration between eCommerce platforms, CRM, and other relevant business systems to create a unified customer view Establish and enforce technical standards, coding best practices, and release management processes Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and optimized Oversee technical SEO best practices and ensure the eCommerce platform is optimized for search enginesCross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the Marketing team to implement digital marketing initiatives, personalization strategies, and A/B testing frameworks Partner with Store Operations to integrate online and offline experiences, supporting initiatives like Buy Online Redeem in StoreBudget & Resource Management:
Manage the eCommerce technology budget, including hardware, software, services, and personnel Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and project deliveryHow You Will Shine:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years specifically focused on eCommerce platforms in a retail environment Proven experience leading and managing technical teams (5+ direct reports) Deep expertise in eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Adobe Commerce/Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, Oracle Commerce, etc.) Experience with headless commerce architecture is a strong plus Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular/Vue), API integrations, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and database systems Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) Solid understanding of digital marketing technologies (e.g., SEO, SEM, analytics, personalization engines, CDPs) Knowledge of payment processing, fraud prevention, and data security best practices (PCI DSS compliance) Experience with ERP, OMS, CRM, and WMS integrations Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
