Community Engagement: Working closely with the community to develop a deeper understanding of its needs and strengths, create lasting relationships and partnerships. Reporting to the Vice President, Community Programs, the Director, Downtown Chicago Community Center oversees volunteer-led programs, leads operations at CCAC's flagship location, and cultivates partnerships that deepen our support of the people we serve. The director has one direct report. Responsibilities Include: PROGRAM OPERATIONS. Ensure strategic alignment and provide operational oversight for programs at CCAC's flagship site, including Shared Table community meals, Loaves and Fishes lunch ministry, Woven Together clothing ministry, and the Cook County Celebration of Giving holiday drive. Ensure meaningful impact of services. Identify, plan, and implement new ministries that serve and enrich the lives of those who come through our doors. TEAM LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT. Provide leadership to employees and volunteers at the flagship as they support the people we serve and drive achievement of goals and key performance outcomes. Engage as a collaborative and mission-driven team member with Community Programs colleagues across the region. Work effectively across CCAC teams to advance shared goals. Partner with finance team to develop, monitor and manage budget. PARTNERSHIP. Identify and champion key priorities and relationships that help us welcome people with open arms. Connect regularly with local peer organizations, identifying ways to coordinate services and support the people we serve. Engage with local government and elected officials in partnership with Government Relations. Collaborate with Volunteer Relations to ensure programs are accessible to volunteers. SITE LEADERSHIP: Ensure that our downtown community center is a welcoming place for all, and particularly our employees, the people we serve, our volunteers, and our supporters. Work with program leaders and frontline employees to foster a workplace culture that speaks to CCAC's core values. Partner with Facilities team to ensure building operations, including maintenance and security, run smoothly. Additional Duties as assigned. Physical Requirements X Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day X Lift up to 25 pounds X Push and pull up to 25 pounds X Climb up and down three (3) or more flights of stairs Other Requirements: X Background check, including any program specific requirements Physical examination Drug Testing TB Testing X Driver's License and reliable transportation Agency-specified automobile insurance Immediate Supervisor: Vice President, Community Programs Directly Supervises: program employees and volunteers Education and Experience Requirements: Relevant Education Preferred: Master's Degree Minimum: Bachelor's Degree Relevant Experience Preferred: 4-6 years' experience in community programming and volunteer operations Bi-Lingual-Spanish/English Preferred Minimum: 2-4 years' experience in community programming and volunteer operations Certification/Licensure Preferred: N/A Minimum: N/A
