Director, Consumer Lending Business Strategy
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for supporting the design, development, maintenance, and growth of a new credit card product through financial modeling and forecasting turning data into executable insights that drive and define business strategy. Essential Job Functions + Supports the end-to-end design and development of a new credit card product suite, including the creation of the business plan, financial projections and forecasts, and helps drive all aspects of operational readiness to ensure a successful and timely product launch. + Works with internal and external partners to evaluate client/market research to finalize promotional offers, value proposition, product features and target segments, including potential market expansion plans to evolve and enhance the product suite over time. + Owns all aspects of product level P&L, determining minimum viable product (MVP) at launch and understanding key drivers of profitability throughout the product life cycle. + Develops and implements data-driven business strategies to balance risk and maximize returns for the credit card product. + Offers strategic guidance and thought leadership across key areas, including but not limited to: + Product profitability; drivers and product-level P&L analysis, + Customer engagement, loyalty, cross-selling opportunities, + Credit and operational risk + Manages relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, collaborating across product, marketing, technology, operations, model development, and risk management to ensure successful financial execution of business strategies. + May be required to effectively hire, develop, coach, recognize, lead, and retain top talent capable of high-level performance in their respective positions fostering a culture of operational excellence and risk awareness. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Expert knowledge of credit products specifically credit cards and credit delivery processes. + Ability to utilize advanced data analysis to transform complex data into clear, strategic recommendations that support business growth and efficiency. + Ability to effectively deliver concise, impactful presentations and strategic narratives to cross-functional partners, senior leadership, and executive management. + Ability to demonstrate results driven, innovative, and strategic leadership skills. + Knowledge of federal banking rules, laws, and regulations pertaining to credit cards, as well as knowledge of credit, liquidity, and market risk including regulatory guidelines and requirements. + Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives from vision to execution by leveraging financial insights and data analytics to drive measurable business outcomes. + Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. + Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to build collaborative work relationships and create a team environment. + Ability to utilize discretion and sound judgment in decision-making. + Ability to champion a proactive risk culture that emphasizes anticipation and prevention over reaction. + Ability to manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines while demonstrating flexibility in a continually changing environment. + Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to maintain confidentiality. + Ability to travel for work, as needed. Basic Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, data analytics, or relevant field required, master’s degree preferred. + 8+ years’ analytics and consumer credit experience required. + 5+ years’ proven record in managing, leading, and coaching professionals required. + Proven experience working with credit bureaus and other external partners such as networks, industry benchmark companies, vendors specializing in fraud tools and more.
