Director, Communications-US & Engagement
Position Summary...The Director, Engagement & Communications leads the strategy and execution of messaging, storytelling, and engagement across CES associates, operations, Walmart Inc. leaders, and external stakeholders. This role ensures the value of CES—as both a customer experience engine and enterprise insights center—is consistently communicated and understood. The Director drives internal clarity, external visibility, and cultural alignment across transformation efforts.

What you'll do...

This role ensures the value of CES—as both a customer experience engine and enterprise insights center—is consistently communicated and understood. The Director drives internal clarity, external visibility, and cultural alignment across transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Messaging & Leadership Visibility

Build and execute a communication strategy that connects CES to Walmart Inc.’s broader transformation and experience goalsCraft high-impact communications for SVP and CES leadership across internal updates, enterprise forums, and external representationTranslate complex initiatives into accessible narratives for frontline associates, support functions, and executive audiencesEnsure strategic alignment and brand consistency across all messaging channels and functions

Associate Engagement & CES Operations Support

Lead associate engagement programs that foster transparency, trust, and belonging across CES (agents, support, WFM, L&D, Ops)Create campaigns and content that highlight transformation progress, individual and team recognition, and cross-functional impactPartner with Segment and Ops teams to ensure timely communication of change initiatives, performance updates, and enterprise prioritiesMaintain feedback loops and communications governance to ensure clarity and avoid message saturation

Elevating CES as a Strategic Insights Center

Champion CES as a front-line engine of customer and associate insight for Walmart Inc.Build communications strategies that frame CES as a proactive driver of value—surfacing defects, influencing upstream fixes, and reducing frictionCollaborate with Product, Tech, and Enterprise Strategy teams to ensure CES data and insights inform key decisionsDrive awareness of how CES powers experience improvement, innovation, and transformation at scale

Walmart Inc. & Industry Engagement

Partner with Enterprise Comms and Corporate Affairs to position CES within Walmart’s broader brand narrativeSupport CES leadership in thought leadership, conference speaking, and cross-industry benchmarkingShare CES insights, innovations, and achievements with external audiences to reinforce Walmart's experience leadershipEnsure consistency in positioning CES across internal enterprise narratives and external-facing materials

Qualifications

10+ years in enterprise communications, engagement, or brand storytelling rolesProven experience aligning messaging across frontline operations, executive leadership, and corporate stakeholdersBackground in high-visibility transformation or change communications, ideally in retail, tech, or customer experience functionsStrong written, visual, and verbal communication skills across mediumsFamiliarity with insights-driven organizations or customer service environments is a plusBachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Organizational Development, or related field required; Master’s preferred

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
