The Opportunity

JLL’s largest business line, Real Estate Management Services (REMS), partners with leading organizations across industry sectors, creating environments that achieve a more humancentric, resilient and responsible approach to shaping a better world of work. Our team serves occupier and investor clients with a suite of integrated services across multiple industries and geographies. Through technology enabled solutions, REMS creates and manages safe and inspiring spaces around the world for people to collaborate, innovate and drive meaningful change anywhere that work is performed.

We are currently seeking a Director of Communications to lead the strategic direction, planning and execution of employee and executive communications for one of our four global sub-business lines, Portfolio Services. This role manages engaging, informative and inspiring employee communications that reinforce our global strategy, support employee engagement and retention, and enable successful change management and transformation. This position will expertly guide communications within the sub-business line across the three segments of Lease Administration, Global Consulting and Transaction Management, while also partnering with our Leasing Advisory business line as One JLL. When appropriate, this individual will partner on and drive social media communications that strengthen our market presence and support marketing campaign efforts. The successful candidate will understand key messages and business challenges, translating them into clear and crisp messaging points, and will adeptly guide and support top level executives (including the EMEA CEO and Global Head of Portfolio Services) through communications initiatives. The individual will remain aligned with external marketing initiatives and champion JLL’s brand, purpose, culture and values, positioning JLL as an employer of choice and the premier global corporate real estate services provider.

This role will report to the Head of Global Communications, Real Estate Management Services.

Essential responsibilities

Develop and execute successful employee and executive communication strategies and programs that align to business mission and goals Understand and clearly articulate each executive’s goals and objectives in relation to the business’ mission, values and strategic direction in all communicationsDevelop robust strategic communication plans that include digital, on-demand and multi-channel execution; introduce and implement new ideas and best practices to ensure channels and content stay relevant and approachableStrong ability to influence stakeholders and decision-makers and earn their supportSupport the transformation efforts by partnering with communicators in Leasing Advisory to develop internal and external messaging to inform and engage our employees, while driving desired outcomesWork closely with executives to prepare speeches, scripts and presentations for executive-level speaking engagements, including internal and external eventsPartner with Public Relations/external communications on executive messaging and key story placementsManage the organization’s major intranet, collaboration sites and internal communitiesProvide strategic counsel to business leaders on communications issues and change management programsCollaborate with global colleagues and counterparts to ensure aligned and consistent messaging drives desired results across geographies and partnering business linesTake on special projects as needed to further business objectives and support key stakeholders

The Requirements

10+ years’ experience in communications, marketing, journalism or a related fieldUniversity degreeCreative problem solver and self-starter with demonstrated creativity, bias toward innovation and ability to drive changeBackground working in a global, matrixed organization preferredExperience managing multiple communications channels and reaching disparate audiencesExperience in change communications and working across geographiesExpert stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate and promote multiple priorities of senior leaders concurrentlyExecutive presence and comfort interacting with senior executives; ability to act as a trusted advisorAbility to work confidently and effectively with all levels of employeesProven ability to deliver excellent results in a fast-moving, ambiguous environmentCollaborative individual who works well in a team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication, and editing skillsUnderstanding of and commitment to client service

Estimated total compensation for this position:

120,000.00 – 145,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
