The Director, Advanced Therapy Commercial Development is an opportunity for an innovative, results-focused leader to execute on the cell & gene therapy strategy and enable cell and gene therapies to reach more patients.
In this role, the leader will be responsible for driving the overall strategy for Cardinal Health’s cell and gene Advanced Therapy Solutions division.
This leader will be empowered to unify development efforts within the business unit and across the company to offer cutting-edge solutions in a rapidly growing and evolving field.
This position reports to the Vice President, Emerging Therapies.
This is a remote role with travel as-needed, up to 20%. Includes conference attendance, client meetings or onsite team meetings at Cardinal Health facility locations or headquarters.
Responsibilities
The Director, Advanced Therapy Commercial Development will focus on an execution plan to meet targets within the advanced therapy/cell & gene therapy strategic planLeads business development and product management team dedicated to building the advanced therapy/cell & gene program offerings tailored to the needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and ultimately patientsPartners closely with internal business units to develop and offer broad solutions to advanced therapy/cell & gene manufacturersApplies knowledge of the payer, PBM and specialty pharmacy industry to optimally partner with biotech companies to leverage clinical, economic and value data to support reimbursementWorks with marketing/communications to continuously evolve the go-to-market message aligning with the rapidly changing advanced therapy/cell & gene landscape.Works internally to ensure capabilities are comprehensive and meet the biotech pharma company and the advanced/cell & gene therapy product needs.Collaborates internally to align resources to optimize advanced therapy/cell & gene knowledge and expertise.Develops financial business cases for advanced therapy/cell & gene solutionsProvides input to targeting strategy for new business opportunities. Works across multiple business units to effectively target new business, document interactions, and develop a customer relationship management cadence.Evaluates both internal development and external partnership options for strategic, timing, capacity and capability.Effectively engages with customers to understand user requirements, needs, current pain points and inefficienciesCritically evaluates new product ideas generated from discussions with sales, business development, customers, internal scientists, and product management to maintain relevant and enticing product portfolio.Collaborates and works cross-functionally with leaders in all internal areas to execute on prioritized goals and objectives.Directly manages by modeling alignment to corporate values, providing direction and feedback, cultivating talent, setting performance goals, monitoring job performance.Demonstrated track record of direct and influential leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred; Advanced degree preferred; PharmD or other clinical degree preferred.2+ years of experience in the advanced therapy/cell & gene therapy market preferred3+ years of progressive leadership experience requiredWorking knowledge of payer/PBM/specialty pharmacy space. Direct experience preferred but not required.Working knowledge of HEOR/health economics/RWE and data sources. Direct experience preferred but not required.Strong business acumen and aptitude for pharmaceutical manufacturer customer requirementsExpertise in pharmaceutical industry with ability to articulate and pitch product solutions to pharmaceutical and biopharma customersPresence in the industry with existing relationships in the advanced therapy/cell & gene therapy spaceNegotiation and presentation skillsSkills in planning, prioritization, organization, time management and multi-taskingSuccessful candidates will be independent, creative, and innovative leadersAble to work effectively in a highly complex matrix environment, with a proven ability to influence without formal authority and achieve results through peopleAbility to travel up to 20%Anticipated salary range: $135,400 - $218,505
