Role Description 

 

The Director, Client Service has overall responsibility for multi-country projects, the financial health of the team budget and the maintenance of healthy and profitable client relationships. 

This role is also jointly responsible for the growth of the Japan business, the quality and satisfaction of the offer provided and positioning of the Kantar brand. 

Key Outcomes: 

In partnership with the Managing Director, developing marketing strategies and deployment plans to achieve Kantar Insights Japan’s goals. 

Drives the financial performance to achieve revenue and profitability targets 

Acts as a trusted advisor, accountable for key client relationships and client satisfaction. 

Actively drives the new business efforts in collaboration with Client Service teams and New Business Development team 

Aligns and ensures successful implementation of proprietary solutions with the business, implementation of Kantar global and regional initiatives. 

Works closely with Japan MD and Business Unit heads to generate client solutions that grow the business on strategy. 

Feeds into internal strategy and planning by MD and BU Heads; 

Leading all aspects of integration of new skills and services through Client Servicing 

Enabling Client Service teams to consistently produce best-practice deliverables for clients 

Lifting and improving the Kantar profile in the Japan marketplace by representing Kantar as an inspiring leader. 

Works to align and integrate various business units such as Qualitative, Media and Digital, New Biz team 

Presents a positive vision of Kantar Insights within the marketing, advertising, and research communities. 

Key Capabilities: 

An exceptional Quantitative practitioner with proven track record and a flair for coaching and mentoring. 

Experienced in a range of research techniques and models and keen to learn more. 

Holds an expert view and understanding of the business environment within which Kantar Insights operates - communications (including creative, media); brand and other relevant areas. 

Demonstrates expertise, confidently applies experience and/or is an early thought adopter. 

Able to generate (innovative) research solutions to address clients’ business/marketing issues. 

Proactively identifies clients’ business questions, brings together Kantar agency partners and external agencies, as appropriate, and provides consolidated views from different data sources. 

As strong communicator in English and Japanese is a plus. 

Solid proven experience in leading multi-country projects. 

Demonstrates flexibility, agility and a high level of resilience when taking care of the responsibilities of this role. 

Embraces change and promotes a work environment that encourages collaboration, creative thinking, and innovation. 

Has high ‘visibility’ within the organization.
