Director, Category & Marketplace Strategic Analytics
As the Director of Category & Marketplace Strategic Analytics, you'll be the go-to person for driving data-driven decisions and shaping our business strategy. Your role is all about using advanced analytics to help us make smart choices and reduce risks. You'll lead a high-performing analytics team, collaborate with others, and come up with innovative solutions that transform the way we operate.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. What you’ll do:Develop analytics strategies to support Category and 3P Marketplace for various stakeholdersInfluence senior leadership and cross-functional teams by providing compelling data-driven insights that guide strategic decisionsAct as a trusted advisor to executives, using data analytics to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiativesLead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence while creating a strategic vision and participating in the annual planning processPresent complex analytics results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, crafting clear, persuasive narratives that drive actionKeep abreast of new theories, strategies, and best practices in the industry to develop new solutions, applications, and strategies
Basic qualifications:11 years of experience in retail, analytics, business, or related areas5 years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions or scientific questions6 years of direct or indirect managerial or leadership experienceExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insightsAdvanced stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive cross-functional collaborationStrong project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time
Preferred qualifications:Master's degree in business, statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, the physical sciences, computer science, or a similar field with quantitative rigorBachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, the physical sciences, computer science, marketing/business, or a similar field with quantitative rigorDemonstrated success collaborating/influencing cross-functional business teams/decisions5 years or more experience leveraging data science and data visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, SAS, R, and/or Python1 year or more of influencing and presenting to executives
