The Lennar Technology Group (LTG) is seeking a Director of Business Systems – Construction Management to lead a portfolio of enterprise and custom-built applications that support our Construction operations. This leader will play a key role in aligning technology solutions with business goals, driving strategic initiatives, and developing a high-performing team of business systems professionals.
Serving as the link between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams, this role ensures systems are optimized for operational excellence and scalable growth. Your Responsibilities on the Team
IT Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement LTG strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Partner with Construction business leaders to understand strategic goals and translate them into actionable technology initiatives.
Lead planning processes for the team, including budgeting, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
Identify opportunities for technology innovation and digital transformation to improve business processes.
Own and maintain the product and systems roadmap across a mixed portfolio of ~50% custom and ~50% SaaS solutions.
Team Leadership and Management:
Manage and mentor a team of LTG professionals, including Managers, Business/Technical Analysts, Technology Leads, Program Managers and Project Managers.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing culture within the LTG department.
Ensure continuous professional development of the LTG team through training and certifications.
Monitor and evaluate IT trends, technologies, and best practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Technology Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of the organization’s enterprise-wide platforms and applications.
Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of LTG systems to support business operations.
Manage vendor relationships and participate in contract negotiations for IT services and products.
Develop and maintain IT architecture, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
Ensure the security, reliability, availability, and performance of IT systems and applications, as well as compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Project Management:
Plan, budget, and oversee the intake, prioritization, and delivery of IT solutions projects, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and methodologies.
Lead and manage LTG projects, including system upgrades, software implementations, and technology expansions.
Ensure that projects and initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Ensure documentation of business and technical requirements and lead cross-functional coordination with internal IT and vendor teams.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure successful integration and adoption of new technologies.
Operations and Governance:
Manage system support operations including incident response, vendor SLAs, change management, and SOX audit compliance.
Oversee user access governance, software renewals, and ensure adherence to IT controls and policies.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
Develop and manage the LTG department's budget related to the portfolio, including software licensing, vendor contracts, and resource planning, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Monitor LTG expenditures and optimize spending on technology investments.
Track ROI on major initiatives and ensure efficient use of technology investments.
Metrics/Dashboards:
Develop and manage the LTG department's metrics, including budgets, project management, and organizational goals.
Communication:
Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with business units, senior management, vendors, and other IT teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field. A Master’s degree in IT Management, Business Administration (MBA), or related fields is often preferred.
10+ years of experience, with 5+ years in leadership.
Department leadership, executive communication, business alignment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
In-depth knowledge of stakeholder management, IT strategy, and digital transformation leadership.
Proven experience managing both custom-built and SaaS applications in a complex enterprise environment.
Experience with IT security practices and risk management.
Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Exceptional communication, presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.
Ability to align IT strategies with business objectives. Strategic, visionary, and customer-oriented mindset, with the ability to align IT strategy with business goals and deliver value-added solutions.
Familiarity with cloud computing, virtualization, and emerging technologies.
Extensive knowledge and experience in designing, developing.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
