What You’ll Be Doing

As a Director, Business Management Office you will lead and facilitate the translation of the TO Strategy into performance measurements and reporting that is used by the TO Executive and Senior management teams, and extend to reporting to CIBC ExCo, the CIBC Board of Directors and Regulators. You are accountable to ensure that the TO Management reporting is provided to all consumers and stakeholders in a timely manner, with a focus on consistency of message with each iteration of data and stakeholder group. The role also ensures that the data is analyzed by the team to provide timely insights, actions and recommendations for TO Executive and Senior management teams. Further, you will ensure that the evolving TO Management Reporting requirements of internal TI&I, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance and Internal Audit stakeholders are met, considering the factors of data and formatting reuse, timely and accurate data and while implementing Data Governance Best Practices. You will lead the introduction of Data Governance practices to TO; focusing on immediate use cases and Data Governance practices that will directly affect issues and outcomes that are critical for the success of TO. Finally, you will lead the engagement with TO stakeholders to facilitate and deliver on specific analytics initiatives, providing analytical and reporting consultation and services to meet the needs of the stakeholders

You’ll report directly to the Senior Director, Strategic Projects & Program Delivery and you’ll be working collaboratively with both the Technology Business Management Office and the Senior Leadership Team. Your team will ensure the end-to-end reporting, while looking for opportunities to improve data governance, automation and simplification.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You’ll Succeed

Relationship Building – A key attribute is the ability to effectively interact and build relationships across CIBC. You will be a point of contact for stakeholders in TO, TI&I, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance and Internal Audit. These relationships extend from internal L7 team members to EVPs in TI&I, and to VPs in the other functions mentioned. When issues are identified, obtaining buy-in to close these issues is challenging and requires strong relationship management skills to be successful

Creative Thinking – A key skill is the ability to think differently, see opportunities where challenges appear to exist; think like a business owner and care about the return on investment of the activities and effort of your team and the organization

Have a Vision – A key skill is the ability to see ahead; research what is happening across the CIBC and TI&I organization(s) and the discipline of data governance and look to predict themes and trends
