As a key leader in our Global Security & Resilience (GS&R) team, you will shape and lead the strategic direction of global threat monitoring, incident response, and operational continuity. This role is critical to protecting our people, assets, and facilities across a dynamic global footprint.

You’ll drive innovation in security operations by integrating advanced technologies to enhance safety, efficiency, and resilience. This position partners cross-functionally to anticipate future business needs, manage complex projects, and shape policies that ensure operational continuity in an evolving risk environment.

As a director, GS&R Enterprise, you will…

Lead global threat monitoring and intelligence functions, ensuring timely collection, analysis, and dissemination of actionable insights to internal stakeholders and licensees.

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for crisis management, executive protection, business continuity, travel security, and security operations center (SOC) functions.

Oversee complex security operations, including incident escalation protocols, business continuity planning, and vendor management.

Develop and implement policies and standard operating procedures that drive operational effectiveness and resilience.

Design and refine systems and technologies that enhance threat intelligence, emergency preparedness, incident response, and physical security across global assets.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security capabilities align with emerging and future business requirements.

Champion the integration of AI and emerging technologies to elevate safety standards and optimize labor efficiency.

We’d love to hear from people with:

Proven ability to develop and articulate a strategic vision while contributing hands-on to key workstreams and deliverables.

Strong people leadership skills with experience managing high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.

Deep experience in corporate security, intelligence analysis, or military/law enforcement/government intelligence.

Advanced knowledge of social media platforms, risk intelligence tools, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques.

Expertise in the intelligence cycle and integrating intelligence into operational security programs.

Proficiency in leveraging new and evolving technologies, including AI, to enhance security operations.

Experience working in large, matrixed global organizations.

Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks related to physical security and resilience.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
