We're a relatively new start-up team within Visa with a global reach and remit You’ll be supporting highly strategic travel industry clients on high impact projectsWe partner with industry stakeholders and fintechs to develop innovative new solutionsThe team is a key part of Visa’s focus on new payment flows as growth driver for our businessGiven the nature of the sector, it will drive Visa brand values especially as a purpose-led brand with social and economic impact.

What we expect of you, day to day:

This is a unique opportunity to be part of this exciting team within Visa, working on one of the company’s most important strategic priority areas. This role, reporting to the SD of Global Merchant Partnerships, will be responsible for expanding Commercial Acceptance with travel merchants. The Director represents Visa internally and externally to the travel merchant community and is responsible for:

Gaining access to travel merchants, identifying and quantifying opportunities, developing and executing strategies to move opportunities forward, managing a pipeline, being a SME resource for internal and external partnersDevelop, expand and deepen relationships with executives within top travel merchantsOversee clients with a consultative and strategic approach to uncover a full understanding of their card acceptance processes and challenges.Drive card acceptance, brand preference, transaction processing and incremental revenues from strategic clients.Deliver cross-selling opportunities by bringing the full range of Visa solutions and services including Consulting Services (VCA), Acceptance and Risk solutions (VAS)Contribute active leadership to the broader B2B Travel team and VCS organisation.Manage relationships with key industry associations, including IATA and ARC.Identify B2B expansion opportunities / agreements with accepting and non-accepting merchants and expand B2B commercial volume through Acquisition/Expansion, Partnership or Relationship managementEnsure merchants/suppliers are optimizing their acceptance environment though use of appropriate tools/solutions.Actively develop acceptance deals with suppliers/merchants to position Visa as a preferred method for commercial payment.Drive deep analytics and deal-modelling leadership, partner closely with regional Account Executives and Business Development Associates, Pricing and other functions.Representing Visa a key industry events, and leading speaking opportunities related to virtual card acceptance.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

QualificationsSuperior strategic thought leadership, analytical skills and ability to develop and sell new strategies to clients to deepen client relationships.Experience in strategy, business development and account management in the payments and/or industry, ideally with expertise in B2B travel payments.Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing complex client or partner deals including managing deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery.Ideally strong relationships within the travel ecosystem, specifically within the travel sector and detailed knowledge of the trends and technologies shaping B2B travel.Preferred understanding of the commercial payment’s solutions utilised by OTAs and travel issuers, emerging payment trends and payment economics.Experience managing partner or client relationships with demonstrable trouble shooting / problem solving skills and bias towards action.Politically astute with the executive presence and credibility to build senior client and internal stakeholder relationships to achieve Visa team objectives.Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise, goal oriented, objectives with multiple stakeholders at senior levels.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across Visa’s highly matrixed structure, including cross-functionally (product, marketing, finance etc) and regionally (Europe, AP, CEMEA, NA, LAC).
