Salary: $20 / Hour The Direct SupportProfessional assists individuals with intellectual disabilities or mentalhealth challenges with growth and development of interpersonal skills andactivities of daily living in the home, community or residential setting. TheDirect Support Professional works directly with the resident and providessupports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills. The Direct SupportProfessional should follow the guidance of the resident/ patients IndividualService Plan. Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Organization Type: DDA Location: Chestertown, MD 21620 Setting: Group Home Position Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Pay: $20 Shift/Schedule: 40hrs per week for FT &16-24hrs per week for PT; PRN also available + 8a-4p + 4p-12a + 12a-8a + OT offered regularly! Essential Duties andResponsibilities: + Communicate with participant, families, professional staff and community members in a person-centered manner + Develop a positive working relationship with assigned participant and family/caregiver + Provide community-based developmental vocational habilitation services consistent with participant's PCP + Develop good working knowledge of participant’s Behavior Plan, utilizing strategies and techniques within the plan to assist participant with decreasing target behaviors/increasing communication skills + Implement skill acquisition in areas of , daily living skills, socialization, leisure, basic academics, motor skills, communication, and self-advocacy + Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and updating of assigned participant’s PCP + Assist assigned participant with toileting and personal hygiene as needed + Maintain complete and accurate participant daily data entry, tracking behavior data, and in other required documentation + Provide mobility monitoring and/or training, as needed. + Assist in the completion of all quality assurance protocols including service satisfaction surveys, program efficiency and outcome measurements. Qualification Requirements: + High School diploma or its equivalent + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age + Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks Next Steps: + For more details on this position, press "apply" and submit your resume.
