Description:

The Director of Finance, Tax, and Accounting Technology will lead strategic technology initiatives supporting the business function of the organization. This role will involve overseeing global technology teams, managing critical systems, and ensuring alignment with finance and risk management priorities. The incumbent will drive the evolution of finance business processes through identifying and implementing strategic Finance platforms, as well as integration with the strategic data platform.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership:

·        Define and execute the technology strategy for Product Control and Finance in alignment with enterprise objectives.

·        Lead modernization efforts including cloud migration, data strategy, and end-to-end automation of finance workflows.

·        Partner with Finance, Risk, Operations, and Business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions meet evolving regulatory and business requirements. 

 

Product Control Technology Oversight:

·        Manage development and support of systems for P&L attribution, IPV (Independent Price Verification), valuation control, and risk-based financial analysis.

·        Drive initiatives for real-time data feeds, analytics, reconciliation engines, and controls for trading and valuation data. 

 

Finance and Regulatory Technology:

·        Oversee platforms supporting general ledger (including subledger and daily postings), regulatory reporting (e.g., Basel, CCAR, FRTB), and financial close processes.

·        Ensure compliance with evolving global regulations and accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP). 

 

People and Team Management:

·        Lead a global team of technology professionals, including developers, architects, analysts, and support teams.

·        Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence. 

 

Governance and Risk Management: 

·        Establish robust controls and governance practices across finance systems.

·        Manage operational risk, cybersecurity, data quality, and audit requirements in technology solutions. 

 

Qualifications:

Education & Experience: 

·        15+ years of experience in financial services technology, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

·        Proven experience managing technology for Product Control, Finance, or Regulatory Reporting functions.

·        Strong understanding of investment banking products, risk, and finance workflows.

·        BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience, or finance, business, with a technical focus

 

Technical Skills: 

·        Knowledge of financial product valuation, risk systems, and front-to-back trade lifecycle.

·        Familiarity with financial platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Murex, Calypso, or proprietary P&L engines.

·        Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), big data frameworks, and real-time analytics is a strong plus.

 

Leadership & Soft Skills: 

·        Visionary leadership with a track record of executing large-scale technology transformations.

·        Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

·        Strategic thinker with the ability to execute under pressure and deliver results.

 

Preferred:

·        MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar qualification in addition to technical/engineering background.

·        Experience with agile delivery models and DevOps culture.

·        Familiarity with current and emerging financial regulations (e.g., BCBS239, FRTB, Dodd-Frank).
