DIR QUALITY ASSURANCE

Position Purpose:

The Director of Quality Assurance serves as the strategic leader driving quality excellence across a portfolio of Private Brand categories, ensuring products consistently exceed customer expectations and align with The Home Depot’s brand promise. The Director leads a global quality organization—including teams in the U.S. and Asia—prioritizing investments, initiatives, and resources to mitigate risk, reduce returns, improve product ratings, and enable sustained sales and margin growth. This role plays a critical part in embedding a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

40% Provide Strategic Quality Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the overall quality strategy across multiple Private Brand categories, driving enterprise-level initiatives such as systemic corrective action frameworks, early-stage product quality integration, and executive-level quality reviews. Serve as the key advisor to senior Merchandising leaders on quality risks and opportunities.25% Build and Scale a High-Performing Global Team: Lead and develop a global quality organization, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Guide senior managers and quality leaders in coaching their teams, driving engagement, and building capabilities aligned with business needs.20% Develop and align Enterprise Quality Priorities: Partner with cross-functional executive stakeholders—including Merchandising, Product Development, and Supply Chain—to align global quality initiatives with The Home Depot’s strategic objectives. Prioritize investments and initiatives that have the highest potential impact on customer experience and business performance.15% Define and Drive Quality KPIs and Performance Targets: Establish and track key quality metrics and long-range targets in partnership with DMMs and business leadership. Use data-driven insights to monitor product health, optimize returns and star ratings, and inform merchandise strategies.

This Position typically reports to VP Product and EngineeringThis position has up to 3 direct reports.


Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).


Working Conditions:

Typically, in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
