IT Director – OT, SCADA, Upstream Systems & Pipeline Operations

As an IT Director, you will lead the strategy, delivery, and support of Operational Technology (OT), SCADA systems, upstream digital platforms, measurement and pipeline operations. Your day will involve partnering with operations, engineering, and shared services to modernize legacy systems, enhance cybersecurity, and integrate advanced technologies across industrial environments. You will apply deep expertise in pipeline automation and control systems to ensure the infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
+ Leads the strategic roadmap and execution of OT and SCADA systems, applying program and change management to drive technology adoption, operational efficiency, and alignment with enterprise goals and budgets
+ Oversees deployment and support of upstream digital platforms and industrial systems, managing vendor relationships and ensuring reliable SCADA, DCS and pipeline control operations
+ Champions the integration Advanced Process Controls (APC), and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning models to improve throughput, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment reliability
+ Leads cybersecurity strategy for OT environments, network segmentation, Programming Logic Controls (PLC) inventory and standardization, threat monitoring, and defense-in-depth architecture across field and control center assets
+ Collaborates with upstream operations to implement digital tools for asset integrity, methane event management, and predictive maintenance
+ Manages IT budgets, benchmark performance, and report on cost variances while delivering high ROI through innovation and operational efficiency
+ Builds and leads a high-performing team of IT and OT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous learning
+ Other duties assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
+ Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field and fifteen (15) years of experience in IT/OT leadership roles, with a strong track record in SCADA, ICS, upstream systems and pipeline operations
+ Preferred: Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field and twelve (12) years of experience in IT/OT leadership roles, with a strong track record in SCADA, ICS, upstream systems and pipeline operations
Other Requirements:
+ Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
+ Proves success in deploying cloud-based SaaS solutions, developing cybersecurity frameworks, and integrating Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning into OT environments
+ Understands upstream and midstream business processes, including pipeline scheduling, integrity management, and control center operations
+ Demonstrates ability to partner with executive leadership to shape technology strategy and drive enterprise-wide transformation
+ Possesses strong organizational change management, communication, and leadership skills
+ Manages large-scale digital programs with measurable business impact.
