The Efficient Growth team within US Retail Markets (USRM) Data Science analyzes the economics and lifetime value of lead sources, distribution channels and products to guide optimal business decisions. In this role, you lead major economic analyses across lead sources and channels for USRM. Past work includes Direct unit economics (e.g. unit economics needed to generate a target lifetime return on a new business policy written today), scale and economic path to 2030 for Direct, and assessing the returns of USRM lead sources (e.g. acquisition media; partnerships).

 

This role requires strong analytical skills to develop complex lifetime value and acquisition economic models, collaborate across various groups within USRM on assumptions and recommendations, and the ability to regularly present and gain buy-in at the executive level. With the org’s intense focus on profitable growth, this role presents the unique opportunity to be at the intersection of Distribution and Marketing, Product and Finance to influence major growth decisions and support key org priorities.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

Lead major economic analyses across distribution channels and lead sources; synthesize findings and present clear recommendation to executives to drive profitable growth for USRMAssess the return of marketing spend overall and by lead source, recommending optimal spend levels and allocationBuild and maintain customer lifetime value and acquisition models to understand the true causal and economic impact of decisionsTranslate lifetime value insights into concrete business insights and decisions such as consumer segment level-returns, major partnership economics or the returns of different PIF growth levers.Serve as the Efficient Growth economics lead, providing consultative insurance economic and lifetime value expertise across USRM to different teamsDevelop clear, executive-ready presentations; lead stakeholder alignment and identify recommended actionsBuild close relationships with stakeholders across USRM, most notably with I&S Distribution & Marketing teams including Media, Direct, Partnerships and IA and with Finance. Qualifications 7+ years of progressively more responsibility in analytics, finance or strategy. Experience with lifetime value methodology, insurance acquisition economics, and distribution and marketing ideal.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to dissect complex analytical questions, get at the root cause of an issue, carry out independent analyses, and propose solutions.Proven experience presenting complex analyses at the executive level (SVP level+) and influencing strategic outcomesDemonstrated ability to lead large projects, synthesize inputs from multiple groups and drive decisionsIntellectual curiosity and motivation to work towards becoming a thought leader in areas of responsibilityStrong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
