Job Description Summary:
Key Responsibilities
Digital Transformation & Industry 4.0 Implementation
Lead the deployment of Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT-enabled devices, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and predictive analytics tools.Map current manufacturing processes and identify digitalisation opportunities that align with Lean and Kaizen principles.Support the development of a smart factory through real-time monitoring, data integration, and process automation2. Mobile Applications Development for Process Standardisation
Design and develop mobile applications to capture, monitor, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across production, quality, and maintenance activities.Integrate mobile apps with ERP, MES, and other systems for live updates and workflow control.Enable mobile-based approvals, digital checklists, and compliance tracking to improve governance and reduce operational risks.Implement offline-first mobile solutions for shop-floor operations with limited connectivity.3. Operational Excellence & Process Optimisation
Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to identify inefficiencies and design digital solutions that improve throughput, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.Integrate Operational Excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) with digital tools for measurable performance improvement.Automate data collection and reporting for OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), scrap rates, and cycle time analysis.4. Systems Integration & Automation
Develop and maintain integrations between ERP, MES, PLC/SCADA systems, and quality control platforms.Implement workflow automation to streamline manufacturing approvals, maintenance scheduling, and production planning.Create dashboards and visual management systems for plant-floor operators and management teams.5. Data Analytics & Decision Support
Build analytics models and dashboards to support predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, and production scheduling.Leverage machine learning and AI models for anomaly detection and process optimisation.Ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with manufacturing standards.6. Continuous Improvement & Change Management
Champion a culture of digital innovation and continuous improvement on the plant floor.Train teams on the use of mobile apps, dashboards, and digital tools to ensure adoption and proper usage.Stay current with manufacturing technology trends and recommend strategic investments.7. Minimum Requirements for Position: (Education, skills, experience, etc.)
Key Skills & Competencies Technical Skills:
Mobile application development (native iOS/Android, Flutter, React Native).Knowledge of manufacturing IT/OT systems (MES, PLC, SCADA, ERP).Proficiency in programming and automation tools (Python, C#, JavaScript, SQL, Power Automate, Ignition, Node-RED).Experience with IoT platforms and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM principles.8. Business & Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.Ability to bridge the gap between production staff and IT teams.Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.Adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.9. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or related field.2-3 years’ experience in manufacturing IT systems integration or digital transformation roles.Hands-on experience developing mobile applications for business process standardisation.Experience implementing digital tools to support Lean and Operational Excellence initiatives.Green Belt or higher in Lean Six Sigma is an advantage.Skills:
