What is the opportunity?

This role is responsible for development and delivery of major change at RBC Direct Investing, a leading-edge digital investment business undergoing significant transformation. You will own and oversee design through delivery for individual projects, keeping business strategy and objectives top-of-mind. Experience in leading diverse teams and a proven ability to effectively navigate technical / stakeholder complexity are a must. The role requires deep insight and expertise in operations (i.e., digital fulfillment, back-end processes, contact center, training and change management routines) and tools/platforms (i.e., Salesforce, Asynch chat). It offers structured leadership and personal development opportunities with high exposure to business leadership.
 

What will you do?

Uncover and identify in-year and long-term opportunities for servicing improvements by maintaining an in-depth understanding of the business and competitive environment, acting as a business representative and SME to champion the RBC DI vision, and working with key partners to identify synergies and accelerate benefits / delivery (e.g., Advice Center)

Mobilize, design, execute on, and own key business outcomes (incl. operational cost footprint forecast to actuals) for strategic projects / pods related to the contact center, internal platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and 3rd party capabilities

Ensure timely and in-budget initiative delivery with minimal or beneficial impact to the business and client experience

Create a pro-active operational risk identification and control mitigation eco-system within the project / Pods by adhering to the business & enterprise risk framework processes

Support project implementation planning activities including ensuring that all relevant messages (internal and external) and training materials to the Contact Centres are communicated in an effective and timely manner

Assume Product Owner accountabilities incl. defining business requirements, resolution / decision of escalated issues raised during business requirements and development phases, business acceptance testing for assigned projects including people / technology / data

Maintain strong functional relationships with key stakeholders and groups across the project delivery lifecycle

Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the entrusted teams

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

Demonstrated track record of success with client focus and strategic thinking (“why” in addition to “what”)

Advanced problem solving and analytical skills and innate comfort with numbers and curiosity

Holistic perspective with ability to connect dependencies and strong attention to detail

Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on stakeholder management, obtaining buy in from various teams and seniority levels, and building impact and influence through partnering and collaboration

Technical expertise, business savvy, creative and continuous improvement mindset

Strong knowledge of Excel/PowerPoint

Nice-to-have:

Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct & Practices exam (CPH) and Options Course (OLC)

Understanding of Project Life Cycle

Strong knowledge of investment products and services

Strong knowledge of brokerage and investment systems
