Digital Producer

KRON4, a Nexstar Media Group, Inc. station in San Francisco is recruiting a Digital Producer. This role is responsible for updating kron4.com, curating high-performing content, crafting homepage layouts driven by data, and helping to report the news -- everything from quick-hit local stories to breaking news and enterprise reports. This role will work on building a loyal local audience by being responsive to traffic patterns and audience interest while serving as a steward of our brands.

This will be a regular, full-time, non-union, non-exempt position. Schedule will be flexible but may include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

Curate and produce a steady stream of interesting original content as well as content shared from other stations in the companyMonitor all forms of media (print, TV, digital, blogs, and social) and be quick to report breaking newsAlways on the hunt for exclusive and/or trending content that will grow engagement and drive loyal, local trafficExcellent at writing headlines that grow audience and engagementPrioritize packaging content that grows page views per visitor and time-on-site, using headline testing, metric tools, and observed patterns to guide decision makingUnderstand different ways to tell a story, particularly producing/sourcing short videos and choosing great photos from station archives and stock photography/newswire optionsEvaluate website traffic trends to make decisions on both daily content needs and, in concert with the team, longer-term content curation that will grow the local audienceBuild positive working relationships with station staff and management, work collaboratively on enterprise content, and create opportunities to drive to web content from broadcastDistribute news content on social media in line with the station's social media strategy

Requirements and Skills:

Two years of experience in digital content and journalismStrong multi-tasking abilitiesOrganized, technical problem solver and quick decision-makerCapable of researching, interviewing, and writing original news articlesKnowledge of SEO best practices and AP StyleEnjoys working in teams and has excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to learn new technology and applications independently and quicklyStrong communicatorSome schedule flexibility (nights, weekends, early mornings)Regularly meets measurements of successUnderstanding of Adobe Analytics; Chartbeat experience a plusProficiency in MS Office; HTML experience a plusBasic proficiency in the Adobe suite a plusJob may include night, weekends and early mornings

Compensation:  $31.25+/hr. to commensurate with experience and skill level
