The Digital Portfolio Manager at Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is an individual contributor tasked with supporting the management and analysis of the pet insurance portfolio, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting market research, overseeing filing management, collaborating with various departments, and delivering insights to senior management. This role will report to the AVP of Portfolio Management at Healthy Paws.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the pet insurance portfolio, including product performance metrics, profitability, and market position.
Performance Analysis: Monitor portfolio performance through quantitative analysis, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Product Management: Manage pet insurance products to ensure compliance with regulations, including forms, rules, and rating plans. Maintain product libraries, form lists, manuals, and status sheets. Track filing approvals and respond to inquiries about filing status and documents. Develop product filings for expedited approval and address filing objections with input from Business Unit and Actuarial teams.
Market Insights: Conduct in-depth market analysis to assess competitive landscape, customer preferences, and emerging trends, leveraging insights to inform portfolio strategy.
Risk Management: Assess and manage the risks associated with the pet insurance portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, analytics, compliance, marketing, and legal teams to ensure alignment and integration of portfolio strategies with overall business objectives.
Reporting & Communication: Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate portfolio performance, trends, and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Additional ad-hoc requests and handling of special projects as requested by leadership.
2+ years of experience in portfolio or data analysis in the insurance industry, ideally pet insurance.
Proficient in analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Qlik, Salesforce) with strong skills in interpreting large data sets.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Strong communicator, able to simplify complex information for non-technical stakeholders.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Motivated team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Passion for pets and knowledge of the pet insurance industry is a plus.
