PIC North America, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Digital Phenotyping Field Engineer to join our team. This is a U.S.–based remote position with up to 40 % travel. The Digital Phenotyping Field Engineer installs, maintains, and optimizes digital phenotyping equipment and manages the resulting data pipeline. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective integration and use of cutting-edge technology in our phenotyping systems.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
You Will Deploy and support existing digital technologies developed by PIC’s in-house digital phenotyping engineersMaintain reliable data transfers from farm sites to on-prem and cloud compute resourcesInstall, troubleshoot, and provide hardware support of remote digital phenotyping platformsExecute test plans to evaluate third-party digital tools for performance-trait measurementMaintain quality control of data capture and labeling systemsCommunicate project status and results to stakeholdersDevelop and maintain systems to automate statistical data summarization and visualization RequirementsBasic Qualifications: (required)
Associate's degree in IT or Engineering related fieldA minimum of 2 years of experience installing and supporting network-connected equipment at the consumer or prosumer level including but not limited to switches, cabling, and security camerasExperience writing Python and/or R scripts for data analysisProficiency with MS Office plus scripting languages and SQL databasesExperience with installing and managing digital equipment or sensors in field environments.Strong understanding of data collection, management, and analysis.Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues independentlyAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
