**Job Summary**
The University Libraries encourage applications for a Digital Imaging Technologist! This role supports the CU Boulder Libraries Digital Imaging Services (DIS) operation by digitizing analogue materials from the Libraries' collections, campus clients and public patrons. The position works in concert with the Digital Imaging Program Manager, and reports to the Head of Digital Asset Management & Production Services.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
_Static Media Digitization and Post-Production_
+ Digitizes, converts, and uploads static media files for fee-based and collection-related imaging projects.
+ Performs digitization post-production including editing image and PDF files using applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, etc.
+ Digitizes materials that require particular attention due to condition or material (i.e. silvering, damage, acidic paper, etc.) or special handling beyond student assistants' abilities.
+ Assists with maintenance of existing and development of new scanning and photography workflows based on standard processes to optimize digitization procedures and increase the lab's efficiency.
+ Assists with maintenance of existing and development of new digitization lab procedures and production management protocols.
+ Meets with partners of digitization projects to understand their needs, makes recommendations based on current standard processes and available technologies, and advises on media production management to ensure that benchmarks are met from project conception through completion.
_DIS Lab Operations Support_
+ Provides customer service support via telephone, email, and ServiceNow communications for digital imaging orders.
+ Assists with the completion and updating of imaging services forms and logs.
+ Communicates with external patrons to process payments, track orders, plan/implement digitization requests, and deliver digital files.
+ Collaborates with DIS staff to build multimedia presentations, slideshows, and other promotional/educational content as needed.
+ Assists Digital Imaging Program Manager with budgeting for and billing of projects, and paying student assistants.
_Supervision of Student Assistants_
+ Reviews students' work for quality on a regular basis and provides feedback to ensure high-quality, consistent production of digitized materials, and recommends steps for remediation if necessary.
+ Facilitates students' work by solving problems that arise from equipment, software, or special materials.
+ May assist with creation & maintenance of training materials.
_Equipment Maintenance and Repair Assistance_
+ Provides basic troubleshooting equipment and software, and performs repairs as appropriate.
+ Collaborates with Digital Imaging Program Manager to schedule repairs and maintenance work performed by outside parties.
+ May make recommendations to the Digital Imaging Program Manager on equipment and software purchases.
_Performs Professional Development and Continuing Education Activities_
+ Maintains currency with standard processes and new developments.
+ Attends workshops, webinars, online courses, information sessions.
+ Uses online and other unstructured resources for self-education.
**What You Should Know**
+ This role is working primarily onsite.
+ The regular work schedule is typically Monday-Friday standard business hours.
**What We Can Offer**
+ $47,000 - $52,875. A small relocation assistance stipend may be available within University Libraries guidelines.

**What We Require**
+ Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in media production, photography, information management, or fine or applied arts from an accredited college or university. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

+ Knowledge of image capture and manipulation software.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Excellent organization skills.
