Digital Health – Data Science Engineer Location: Singapore | Job Type: Full-Time, Regular | Travel: 0–10%

The Digital Health Data Science Engineer is a high-impact technical and strategic role at the forefront of digital biomarker development, AI-powered clinical data analytics, and platform innovation. In this position, you will play a dual role: contributing hands-on to data engineering, algorithm development, and AI integration—while also serving as the primary point of contact for Lilly Digital Health’s data engineering and data science activities in Singapore.

You will support key clinical initiatives, collaborate closely with global colleagues, and help drive regional execution in alignment with Lilly’s digital health innovation strategy. This role is central to Lilly’s partnerships with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Lilly Centre for Clinical Pharmacology (LCCP), contributing to our expanding presence in Asia.

Key Responsibilities

Singapore-Based Technical (Data Engineering and Science) Leadership

Serve as the primary Singapore-based representative for Lilly Digital Health’s data engineering and data science efforts, acting as a technical liaison to LCCP, EDB, and local partners.

Coordinate regional execution of data science and platform projects in alignment with global Digital Health strategy.

Support communication, integration, and technical alignment between Singapore stakeholders and global engineering and scientific teams.

Contribute to a high-performing, mission-driven team culture grounded in technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Strategic and Cross-Functional Impact

Partner with global colleagues across Sensor Lab, Clinical Operations, Biomedical Engineering, and Product teams to design and deliver digital health data pipelines, algorithms, and clinical endpoints.

Translate technical and scientific requirements into scalable solutions using wearable sensor data, cloud platforms, and AI.

Provide input to platform roadmaps and clinical trial designs, representing Singapore-based execution capabilities and constraints.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

Design, build, and maintain robust data ingestion, transformation, and delivery systems for time-series sensor and metadata.

Establish monitoring and quality assurance mechanisms across the data lifecycle, from device acquisition to trial-ready datasets.

Continuously optimize data workflows for speed, reliability, and scalability.

Algorithm Development & AI Innovation

Develop machine learning and deep learning algorithms to derive clinically meaningful digital measures (e.g., activity, sleep) from accelerometry, EEG, PPG, and other biosensors.

Validate model performance using internal and partner datasets, ensuring generalizability and relevance for clinical use.

Lead integration of AI features—including large language models (LLMs)—into Magnol.Ai, Lilly’s cloud-based sensor data platform.

Required Qualifications

Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Informatics, or a related field, PhD degree will be a plus.

Minimum 5 years of experience in industry, with a focus on data engineering, analytics, and/or algorithm development.

Proven hands-on experience with Python, R, SQL, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), and large-scale data processing.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects and coordinate with geographically distributed teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience translating technical insights to business and clinical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in wearable sensors, digital biomarkers, or health tech platforms.

Familiarity with time-series analysis, deep learning, and signal processing.

Experience with LLM integration, prompt engineering, or generative AI in scientific applications.

Exposure to Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

Track record of cross-functional collaboration and influencing without authority.

What Sets You Apart

A strong blend of technical expertise and cross-cultural collaboration skills, enabling you to drive execution locally while aligning with global objectives.

Growth mindset and enthusiasm for developing next-generation digital health products.
