At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
The PositionAt Roche, our Finance Centers of Excellence have transformed the way we work by breaking down silos and hierarchies. We've learned immensely from both our successes and challenges, gaining a deeper understanding of interfaces, synergies, and the risks of creating new barriers. Now, we're building on these insights, shifting from a divisional/functional approach to an enterprise-wide strategy with the Enterprise Center of Excellence (eCoE).
The OpportunityAchieving a truly enterprise-oriented eCoE demands an evolving work and leadership style. It requires leaders to become more agile as our environment rapidly transforms. Each of us must be an agent and enabler of transformation for Finance and Roche. If you're excited about leading this change and catalyzing the future, an Enabler Role in the Enterprise Center of Excellence is for you. This unique role is composed of three interconnected profiles:
People Enabler: Passionately acts as a coach, catalyst, and career & development partner to the eCoE members.
Value Enabler: Focuses on delivering value to customers by ensuring key focus areas—Financial Backbone, Digital Innovation, and Analytics and Insights—remain central.
Connector Enabler: Brings the network to life by creating and catalyzing a vision and architecture that expands and enhances the Finance network, connecting Finance and supporting business-critical outcomes across the enterprise.
The Enablers of the eCoE form an Enabling Cluster, distinct from a traditional leadership team. No one will have a team in the conventional sense, as eCoE members will self-select their People Enabler. The eCoE's work will be dynamically rebalanced across the Enabling Cluster, building on individual strengths and developing into new areas. As an Enabler, you will be required to flex in and out of the three profiles based on the evolving needs of the eCoE, the network, and your stakeholders. The specific split across profiles will vary among Enablers and will change based on self-alignment within the Enabling Cluster.
As an eCoE Enabler, you will:
Be a courageous, inclusive, and servant leader with a people-first focus, delivering on Finance Ambitions by co-creating a compelling VISION and ARCHITECTING the journey.
Act as a COACH and CATALYST within the finance organization, creating space for people to take smart risks, approach their work differently, and streamline or stop non-value-adding activities.
In parallel there is a Digital program (sponsored by the Finance Leadership Team) which will drive the overall Digital roadmap and strategy for Finance across Roche. The Digital OBC will be supporting and role modeling that strategy and implement required pillars based on the outcome of the Digital program.
Foster a learning culture that attracts, engages, and retains strong and diverse talent, providing robust development support and a platform for career growth within Roche.
Embrace your role as a change agent and role model by living the Finance Mindsets and Behaviors, building capabilities for new ways of working, and architecting an environment where self-aligning teams can thrive.
Provide coaching and guidance to empowered self-aligning networks, supporting the eCoE in managing resources regarding capacity and capability to ensure balanced resourcing and opportunities.
Commit to supporting your team’s development and growth, both individually and as a collective, while also committing to your own development and relying on candid feedback from the team.
Who You AreWe're looking for someone with:
Beyond a very solid understanding of the P&L, you should be familiar with Financial planning and analysis (forecasting, long-range planning, performing variance analysis) and have the ability to build a financial model to assess viability of a project. You should also have a familiarity with how data flows through company systems including ERPs and Business Intelligence tools.
A Business Partner experience which has helped you to translate data into narrative, where you provided decision support and could also constructively challenge the business is preferred.
A Bachelor's degree is required; an MA/MBA is preferred.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, position ideas effectively, and manage various stakeholders' expectations.
An ability to think outside the box, strategically beyond the immediate future, and a strong proficiency in coaching and relationship-building in a multicultural environment.
