Job Description:

At Regions, the Digital Experience Researcher uses qualitative and quantitative mixed research methods to gather and synthesize data and feedback to improve usability, solve problems and inform product strategy at every stage of the design and development process. The Level III Researcher develops the process/approach for tackling a design problem, using known methods; anticipates problems and explores new patterns and practices, enhancing methodological toolkit. This research will add context and insight to the design process paving the way to products that are useful, usable, frictionless and delightful. The Researcher is responsible for designing, planning and executing the research plan including screeners, surveys, usability testing, focus groups, interviews, field visits, ethnography studies, competitive analysis, cognitive walkthroughs, task analysis, journey development and persona building. Researchers are storytellers who can visualize and present findings in a concise narrative to stakeholders, partners and product owners.

Primary Responsibilities

Plans and executes customer research throughout the design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validationResearches personas and investigate behaviorCollaborates  with internal teams using research findings to improve productsWorks closely with marketing, product management and design teams to identify research topicsParticipates in recruitment activities for user researchPlans and implements the overall user research strategy and methods for specific projects assigned to themFormulates surveys and analyzing survey dataPlans and executes moderated and unmoderated usability exercisesMay act as a resource to associates with less experienceClearly communicates research findings to internal stakeholdersSubmits research finding for peer reviewConducts reviews of peer’s research findingsShare insights to drive feature roadmaps, prioritization and continuous improvementPartner with User Experience (UX) Design, Product and the lines of Business Partners to explore customer issues and big questions Researchers can dig intoAnalyze data to extend a key finding to an insightsMap trends to current work in flight or solutions

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.  

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in cognitive or experimental psychology, human computer interaction, human factors, Digital Design, Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Market Research or related fieldFive (5) years experience as a UX User Researcher or similar roleStrong and capable engagement in standard research processes with experience in qualitative and user-centered design research methodologiesStrong Knowledge of UX and user centered design practicesFamiliarity of quantitative behavioral analysis and statisticsFamiliarity with Service Design and Product Management Process

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week.  The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations.  Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. The locations available for this role are Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
