Key Responsibilities: + This effort is in direct support of a US Space Industry Prime Partner in the Chantilly, VA area. KBR is seeking the self-driven, the bold, the passionate Systems Engineers who will join KBR on an exciting journey of professional thrill and personal growth as the Team pursues and steps up to strategic Customer Enterprise-level challenges. + The ideal candidate will play a critical role in integrating, managing, and optimizing the flow of digital information across the product lifecycle—from concept and design through manufacturing, operations, and sustainment. + This position provides hands-on leadership and guidance within and across KBR Program Systems Engineering (SE) Integrated Team to deliver 100% on-target success of both top-down DE Culture Transformation objectives and hands-on DE taskings. + Domain knowledge and executional focus areas include: Space and Ground SE and Lifecycle Management fundamentals; DE including MBSE foundational principles including processes and standards; Space and Ground mission, systems, and lifecycle development phase-tailored applications, tools, techniques of DE/MBSE to deliver and maximize Enterprise-wide efficiency, interconnectivity, and re-use within DE-centric mission architecture, design data, and organizational knowledge management systems. + This role reports to the Digital Advancement Division leadership and is fully empowered to execute critical facets of the contract - including but not limited to: interact with Customer and Stakeholders; develop DE Transformation pathfinders and detail action plans; manage strategic and tactical outreach communications in response to Customers' and Stakeholders’ needs; develop and monitor direct and indirect DE Transformation performance results and metrics; and maintain vigilance to drive DE Transformation gap closures – as appropriate, early, and timely. + Deliver foundational digital engineering (DE) approaches that ensure the engineering and MS&A processes are met. + Provides technical advice and guidance to senior managers regarding the creation and implementation of new MBSE methods and techniques. + Develop and deliver enterprise level digital engineering approaches, and ensure that the models, data, and information to support the development of the space and intelligence architecture, systems, and other acquisitions are accessible, interconnected, and structured in such a way to ensure organizational goals are met or exceeded. + The Digital Engineering role will also ensure that the current systems engineering, and MS&A processes covered in the SOW requirements are maintained. + Understand and guide the federated modeling approach across the enterprise to mission partners within the organization. + Adhere to the MBSE modeling methodology guidelines and principles established by the team. + Ability to demonstrate complex modeling concepts and best practices to different stakeholders. + Design, implement, and manage digital thread architectures across multiple systems and tools. + Support model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital twin development, and product lifecycle integration. + Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, IT, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. + Establish data governance practices and ensure traceability and version control throughout the product lifecycle. + Lead or support initiatives around digital transformation, interoperability, and system integration guidance for the enterprise. Required Qualifications: + An active TS/SCI with Poly is required to be considered for this position. + Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 10+ years of experience. + 3+ years of experience specifically in digital engineering and digital thread implementation. + Understanding of MBSE frameworks (e.g., SysML) and digital twin concepts. + Deep understanding of systems engineering, and an expert in Digital Engineering (DE)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). + Excellent understanding of data science concepts and technologies such as relational and non-relational databases, ontology, Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML) to include SysML V2. + Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and stakeholders. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Desired Qualifications: + OCSMP SysML Model Builder Fundamental Concepts Certification (Level 2) is desired. + General understanding of digital industry trends such as, Cloud/IaC, Data Analytics, DevSecOps, AWS and/or Azure, Containerization/micro-services. + Knowledge of developing satellite and other space-based technologies. + Knowledge of Operations Research/Systems Analysis. + Experience deploying Digital Threads or Digital Twins concepts across an enterprise. + Experience in regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, space, defense). + Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure data transmission best practices. + Exposure to agile development environments or DevSecOps culture.
